I totally agree. However the DPRK is not exactly trustworthy. Very well could be a ruse.

I can’t see China wanting a pro-western Korean Peninsula. In fact I smell a rat. There’s been a lot of disinformation campaigning going on.

After that, Kim plans to take over South Korea.

But everyone understands that. Well, Obama would not have, but everyone else does.

Another possibility of Kim’s long game........ His country is broke and his nuclear test site is reportedly damaged. Has he poisoned half his country? Does he NEED outside help to clean it up? If this is possibly the case he would be forced to end the conflict, open his country up and accept inspectors in order to receive large amounts of foreign help cleaning up the radioactive mess he made.

Once people, goods and ideas get in the whole Kim is a deity thing is done as is his iron grip on the people. Any opening of that country will moderate it.

Trump cannot take credit for this other than maybe a small part. Here is a more balanced opinion from a less biased source.

No matter how one looks at Kim Jong Un, it is apparent he is playing a long game and playing it very well.

Don't think anyone is disagreeing with you. However, in this thread people have stated trump had nothing to do with this, even after being shown the SK President says different (and those that say trump has nothing to do with it, have been shown what the SK president has stated).

I voted for Trump but I’m not willing to give Trump complete credit for this. Remember N Korea collapsed the mountain where they were testing nuclear weapons and radiation is leaking from the area near China. I suspect China exerted influence on Kim to help put a stop to his behavior. Trump’s strong standing against Kim’s threats helped with his decision.

Kim Jong Un wants US troops out of South Korea. Trump might too.

"That’s the wrong signal to send a regime that has been talking about conquering South Korea for decades but knows that it can’t win if US troops take part in the fighting."

If they do get to come home, I'm thinking they shouldn't get comfortable.

Grow up. The SK President is placating the baby U.S. President. The whole world knows that to keep Donald Rump from going off the deep end, and putting the world in jeopardy, he has to have his global-sized ego stroked. So the grown-ups of the world can move forward.
