Though the Trump gullibles seem to believe that he financed part of this campaign himself, it is far more likely that the Trump campaign financed part of his organization.
So people sending in their twenty bucks, thinking it was going go towards helping their champion win the election, might actually have been donating to support Trump and his family.
Definitely anyone contributing to his 2020 campaign are actually paying legal fees for him and Don Jr. That's not even a secret of any sort.
"The county GOP organization raised $58,335 at an event that cost them more than $64,000. The spent $24,487 at Trump National and paid Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld $30,000 to speak. Republicans repaid a $10,000 loan from State Sen. Joseph Pennacchio (R-Montville), but still owe $10,000 to DeFilippis, who loaned the money to help make a down payment on Gutfeld’s appearance."

That is really sad isn't it--I am sure that small GOP thought they were making a big splash...
Mortgaged their souls--and for a Fox personality--more ass-kissing...
And reading the article from the link--about the Daniels's payoff--makes perfect sense that the campaign was using Trump's company for vendor services--hotels, public spaces event planning, catering...
Lots of ways to send money into Trump's pocket w/o any real cost
saw this today. when asked if he thinks cohen will flip:
“I don’t think the president did anything that — with Michael — that Michael needs to quote/unquote flip,” Scaramucci answered."
i doubt scaramucci had access/knowledge to trump and cohen's communications but i did think it was interesting that he corrected himself by qualifying "with michael" when stating if the president did something worthy of flipping. it could just have been a simple stumble on words or the mooch may know something.
mooch's other advice that cohen should be honest with his lawyer, while good advice, ranks up there with advising someone to tell their doctor where it hurts.
Mooch is an ass kisser worthy of Louis XIV's court
i think mooch is just desperately trying to remain relevant. (most likely ) he has no inside information on cohen's situation and his legal advice for cohen was on par with a first grader but...... his name is recognizable to he gets coverage.
Cohen has been called to testify before Congressional committees regarding the Russia investigation---
The article said if the payments are for work done on that aspect then they likely get away with it
If the money was used for the Stormy Daniels case, then they don't
I know that attorneys' firms are meticulous about how their billing statements are attributed-
To the specific 15 min of the hour from some I have seen
So while that might be attorney-client priviledged info technically, I imagine if there is crime involved on writing one check from campaign for two activities then the FEC can get the documentation...
I suspect that the SDNY investigators will track down where this $130K came from.
Agreed. The Southern District of New York (covering Manhattan) has many decades experience of pursuing white collar crime, financial misdeed on Wall Street and in banks, and organized crime.
They are well suited to take on the type of monkey business Trump, his company Trump Org, the Trump campaign and Michael Cohen have been up to. They have seen these kinds of shenanigans many times before and know just where to look.

That's one thing about these guys, they are so accustomed to using and taking other people's money it must be like an uncontrollable reflex.
But during the campaign they wanted it to be as unnoticeable as possible, so the scenario outlined in the article makes perfect sense in that regard, but potentially makes the campaign finance crimes much more serious.
The SDNY will be scrutinizing the books and records very closely. Something they are very good at.
