Malaysia is an authoritarian country with a corrupt entrenched government. It appears the government decides what is fake and what is not. I suspect anything that criticizes the government is deemed fake. We have freedom of speech in this country unlike many other places in the world.

The term FAKE (aka Faux from the French word like Faux Pearl) has been leveled at Fox (Faux) News for at least 10 years.

I believe that's where they got the idea\tactic.
