life-long registered independent. in the past i've voted R, D, I and 3rd. won't automatically vote democrat but have taken any GOP candidate out of contention.

lanny davis wasn't one of CNN's sources for the original story. davis declined to comment when CNN originally contacted him. davis was the anonymous confirmation source for the NY post, washington post and others when they checked the validity of the CNN claim. davis now backtracking to a "can neither confirm or deny" position does not affect the original sources of CNN.
Limbaugh said, "It appears that the (Jacksonville) shooter was part of the Trump 'Resistance'."
Limbaugh’s comments were based on an article by the Gateway Pundit, which has since retracted its claim about the shooter’s anti-Trump political leanings.
We searched through articles about the perpetrator and found no evidence the shooting was politically motivated.
* lanny davis was not one of the "sources with knowledge" in the original CNN piece. davis was contacted by CNN for the piece but "declined to comment".
* after the CNN piece aired several media outlets, including the NY post and washington post, contacted davis for confirmation on CNN's story. he did, but on the condition of anonymity.
* davis then reversed position, going public that he was the confirmation source but now claims he "misspoke" and can neither confirm or deny the information. NY post and washington post have confirmed that davis was their source.
* CNN stands by their story since davis was never one of the original sources for the information.
