Sounds about right. I live in a conservative state (Wisconsin), and every government contract goes to a Walker donor. The state is running out of money for infrastructure projects because elected "conservatives" invest so heavily in corporate welfare. There's back room deals being cut everywhere. Need an example? The 2017 budget included $4M for an airport next to a Republican donors golf course, exclusively for private jets. If I wasn't writing on my phone, I would list more.

Perfect reason why we to get need money out of politics.

Icahn also bought Trump's Atlantic City out of bankruptcy. Trump and Icahn have been friends and partners for many years.

They talk on the phone regularly according to Icahn. Trump wanted Icahn to be his advisor or in the cabinet.

I'm still wondering how much Icahn made shorting Amazon.

If you think Dems never do anything like this, read Peter Schweitzer's Secret Empires.
https://www.amazon.com/Secret-Empire.../dp/0062569368

He exposes both parties and names names. The chapters about Obama's friends and cronies is very interesting. Very.

Sadly, these practices are not illegal and they go on in every business and industry.

IMO, they all do. On the local level sometimes I think it is worse.

That's why there should be term limits, with no full pension after 6 years. Public financing of campaigns, and we get to see the tax returns of all candidates and their spouses and kids. No house dr or barber in the basement.

Get all the consultants out of any campaign. They should be in the unemployment line. If a candidate can't win with volunteers, they have no business in Congress.

This. ^^^^

Most of the ills that face this nation could be fixed with bipartisan legislation that puts the people of the country first.

But that's not ever gonna happen.
