I'm on the Right, and very actively study historical and modern geopolitics, and think the Q stuff is dumb.
However, I've perused it to see what the fuss is about.
Most of it I take as unsubstantiated and unnecessary gibberish that works, generally, in the way that fortune telling works.
Though, I have, maybe 1-2 times, seen credible insight that would only be had by someone with actual clearance and would unlikely be had by a civilian practical joker.
It makes me think that it could be a practical joke masquerading as a low level operation. It could be a very causal means of probing political tolerance and reaction to a sensational conspiracy frame.
I will say that when a high level event pops off, a person posting as Q has had deep insight (though not necessarily of a secret nature) into recent international politics to justify their conspiracy. His explanation of what was occurring in Saudi Arabia before the LV shooting was one such example. His explanation was on the mark, and still little understood by the public even though it is central to all present day politics.
In all, I'd wish the Q followers would be more skeptical (at least leave the Q signs at home at rallies guys) but if I were on the Left I'd also be less than 100% secure in dismissing it.
There might be a Derp State, but no Deep State, that is a complete fiction.

You're dismissing something that isn't in contention, even in the mainstream, and you're doing it out of clear interest in present day political machinations.

With some people, one gets the impression that they judge truthfulness of a claim based on how scarily sensational it sounds. They may well be sincere in their beliefs, as opposed to simply conning people using fear tactics to get support from them.
IF this is the case, then they need to understand is that there are a lot of good actors out there (even "the good preacher" who stands up for traditional values) whose speech may contain a grain of truth, but ONLY a grain - just enough to get the person thinking "true in one thing, true in all".
They also may be thinking that these speakers themselves are sincerely and would never lie about something this serious. After all, nobody wants to start stuff that can lead to a lot of people getting hurt or killed (i.e. war, oppression, etc.). After all, no sane person wants to have horrible dangerous situations, so why wouldn't he or she be scarily urgent if it were not true?
Problem: As said, conmen/women are very adept at playing up fears of others. They create controversy and fear mongering for their own selfish benefit or the benefit of the groups they work for. What benefits could it be? Money for themselves or others is one. So is having power and influence in society. Even mere celebrity praise-and-glory status is for a lot of people the most valuable thing in and of itself (i.e. they're narcissists or can feel good about themselves only if they get praise and glory from others)
They want to rule the world (so to speak), or be rich, or addicted to cheers of the crowd* (possibly because they themselves are upset at not getting cheers and glory from others as children) -- and they found that fear works wonders in inspiring support for you, and they'll keep stoking that fear for the sake of that power, money, or glory, they'll keep on giving you support.
*This is just the grown-up form of a Saturday morning children's show or Disney movie's showing dozens of people giving cheers and glory to the hero of the story.
