Here is something new.

Nunes says he will move to hold AG Sessions in contempt.

DOJ responds. I couldn't find all of the response in a media article but I found an important part.

"The Department has determined that, consistent with applicable law and longstanding Executive Branch policy, it is not in a position to provide information responsive to your request regarding a specific individual," Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd wrote in the signed letter. "The Department and its intelligence community partners would welcome the opportunity to discuss whether there are other ways to accommodate the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's oversight inquiry."

Who is named in the authority document ? Many would say it has to be Trump but Rosenstein says Trump isn't a target. If he was named in the document he would have to be a target. They would also have to name a crime. That's a requirement.

What if its Manafort ?
They can name a crime and bet they can get him to implicate Trump if he is facing life in prison. The crimes were sitting on the shelf. Dust them off and go after Manafort and try to get to Trump through him. If they fail they have cover to claim it was never about getting at Trump. If successful they take Trump down.
They look good. It's a no lose situation for Mueller and the DOJ.
OK they didn't get the big fish but there was nothing to get him on unless they can interview him and nail him in a perjury trap. That's the second shot at getting Trump.
The impeachable offence they need to be seen as a success, and remember Trump was never a target.

Can't wait to see him take the stand and be ask about what he was thinking after leaving the Oval Office and realizing his friend Mueller didn't get the job as FBI director.

US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson raised questions about whether Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's decision to appoint a special counsel to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 election gives Mueller more authority than what the Department of Justice (DOJ) typically allows.

I really hope that J Edgar Mueller goes down and that his career is ended and he goes away in the same shame that he caused Manaford and others in his witch hunt to get Trump.

1968:
Trump received his fourth and final college deferment on 16 January 1968. After graduating from Wharton, he was reclassified 1-A on 9 July 1968. Trump underwent an Armed Forces physical examination (with a result listed only as “DISQ”) on 19 September 1968 and was reclassified 1-Y (qualified for service only in time of war or national emergency) on 15 October 1968.

sorry but the Armed Forces Physical is done at the MEPS station by MILITARY doctors

It's a safe bet Manafort's got much more to tell about the Podestas after a decade of working with them in Ukraine. It'll be very interesting to hear how this played out. If he offered them the Podestas & only wanted Trump, then Mueller has a massive problem on his hands since Trump is not the target of the investigation.

Can you please post a copy of that original mandate you're citing?

I suspect it's one of the non FBI employees the FBI was illegally allowing full, unsupervised access to the FISA & FBI databases. I'd make the betting favorites Christopher Steele, Glenn Simpson, Comey's homeys or one of the two former Mueller FBI proteges currently running Crowdstrike.
