Out of a total population of 39 million. To put it into perspective: 99.7% have shelter, 0.3% do not.

And how many of those 114k homeless are transients from other states? If you're going to be homeless you'd want to do it where it's warm.

Not much. Who's afraid to go outside? I mean, tourists can be an annoyance but hey - they they spend thousands to come see what I think of as "Tuesday", so... Dolphins along the beach today, sailing season has started, life is pretty good.

Indeed. People are homeless, not dumb, and dying from exposure has little to recommend itself.

They are ruining many Texas cities also and have already ruined Austin!

Lol, that is correct.

Japan also has exremely strict immigration policies. Think that may be a factor?

Insecure people and those without enough earning power enjoy trashing the #1 "CAPITALISM" state in the USA - even as they extol how great Capitalism is. It's funny...if it weren't so sad. Without California this country would be hurting. Those CA. jobs and innovations are responsible for 10's of millions of jobs elsewhere in the country...and world.

It's not like "Well, Alabama would have gotten around to those innovations...eventually". Nope! Most of the Confederacy and other areas were set back many many decades by their refusal to adopt modern economies (yes, even in 1850...and before..and after).

Luckily for civilized people, California and New England and other innovative places are now spreading the goods everywhere...so, with the internet and jet travel and A/C, etc. it's possible to have the best of all worlds.

But I was always taught not to be an ingrate. You don't forget who brought you to the dance....and that happens to be all the greats of history, currently skewed heavily toward Cali.

I’ve been to Oklahoma and I found it to be a nice place. Eastern OK looks a lot like Arkansas ozarks, wide open spaces in the West. I found the people there friendly and also noticed how clean of a state it is.
