Your tax dollars at work.

BREAKING EXPOSÉ: USDA “Uses Kittens as Test Tubes” – White Coat Waste Project

Quote:
As first reported by Washington, DC ABC affiliate WJLA and Christian Broadcasting Network, documents obtained by WCW through the Freedom of Information Act–including experimental protocols, animal purchase orders and photographs–show that a USDA Agricultural Research Service laboratory breeds 100 kittens a year, feeds the 2-month-old kittens Toxoplasma-infected raw meat, collects their feces for 2-3 weeks to harvest the parasite for use in other experiments, and then kills, bags and incinerates the kittens like they’re trash.
THIS is what we mean when we say taxation is theft.

This House Member from Michigan is trying to stop it:

I agree that this is horrible, and I will contact my Senator and Rep. However, I think as an anti-taxation argument, this is weak sauce. It's not a taxation issue, it's an animal cruelty issue. Private corporations do things like this all the time. Should they be allowed to? Also, what of the millions of dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies that die every year in shelters because stupid people allow their pets to breed unchecked?

Government logic: you have to kill cats to save cats.

The difference is that when tax dollars are used, taxpayers should have a say in the matter because they (taxpayers) are all indirectly complicit.

"Sickening-"

What is MORE sickening is people who treat animals as if they are human beings.

Many have more compassion of cats and dogs then they do for babies in the womb!

At least for the cute animals. If these were rats, we would have never heard about this.

Yet if you trap or shoot a nuisance cat that is tearing up your garden the government will arrest you for cruelty.

Yet they'll send out a govt worker to trap and kill it for you. We had a feral hog problem here so everyone started buying tags. In response the govt saw a chance to raise the price of the tags to increase revenues. Tags went up 500%. Hunters increased. The govt decided it was too dangerous to allow hunting in the areas they(hogs) preferred to live so they brought in govt trappers/hunters to do it and paid out millions. Govt solution.
