Free markets either work or they don't.
I thought that Liberals were against income inequality? "Righties" are only pointing out the hypocrisy in the democratic platform.

"Righties" support income inequality by constantly complaining about minimum wage laws! Maybe those San Francisco fast-food workers need a $35 an hour minimum wage instead of a lousy $15 an hour one! If they can finagle it, more power to them!

With corporations like 3M, Cargill, Pillsbury, General Mills and Target Corp calling Minnesota home it’s not difficult to have a financially healthy state. All companies started by conservative men. These whacked Democrats we have around here had nothing to do with their success.

And interestingly enough, Gov. Pawlenty managed to bring the economy in MN down.

groups like Alliance for a Better Minnesota are attacking Pawlenty for his moves while governor to borrow from school district funds to help balance the budget, plus the $6.2 billion budget deficit he left behind when he exited office.

MN not only has a stronger economy, it absorbs a lot of the less fortunate from Wisconsin.

Comparing cities to states makes no sense regardless.
Untrue. Michigan had a Democratic governor for 2 terms, prior to the current governor. She rewarded the state residents with a 15% unemployment rate.

Who was running Seattle when the local billboards said "Will The Last Person Leaving Seattle Please Turn Off The Lights"?

I did not realize Chicago was a red city.

If a city wants to have their own higher minimum wage I fully support it.

It's when idiots proposing hikes to the national minimum wage to put it in line with what you need to make in San Fran or NYC that people recognizing the cost of living disparity vs. small town Iowa balk.

When the cost of living is 2.5x higher in San Fran than rural fly-over country, trying to increase the min wage by forcing the federal wage to $15 or higher is a cheap political stunt meant to create opposition due to the obvious stupidity of the proposal so that the proposers can then create a false wedge issue.

The same persons when the economy turned around for the better. As it turns out, this had nothing to do with the mayor of Seattle. It had something to do with Boeing losing federal funding by the U.S. Senate under the Nixon administration. After Boeing lost that funding, it couldn't building the supersonic jet it was planning for. Alot of layoffs from Boeing as a result. Nothing to do with the city or the state, but the federal government. Aircraft companies like Boeing and Lockheed get alot of federal contracts. Lose that, and you're in trouble.
