According to this, the Parmecutical industry ( backed by investors) fund more than 60 % of R&D. That investment was $67.4 billion in 2010. Government contributes about 1/3 of the cost.
Interesting indeed are the numbers of drugs major pharma has no part in researching at all but nevertheless profit from exponentially through over charging Americans.
Yep
In Capitalism, Unions are encouraged.
In Communism, Unions are not allowed.
Now ask yourself who sides more with Communism and also got in bed with China for cheap labor that have no rights?
The solution then is to do away with lobbying.
The end result either way, is wall street and upper management need to take a paycut.
If we had a Free Market, that is exactly what would happen.
I don't see lobbying going away. Washington wants it and very few Americans care or even understand what it is. Or how badly the are being cheated by it.

Nope, in Communism, unions are not allowed.
Corporations have the best of both worlds when they relocated to China.
They exploit workers under a communist system where workers have no rights while being allowed to privatize control over their business.
The Corporatism that we have today is closer to Communism.
Freedom of speech was suppressed and dissidents punished. Independent political activities were not tolerated, including the involvement of people with free labour unions

1. you link to wiki on the USSR, which was not pure communism
2. pure communism (Marxism) is the commune, a union of people.... and even in fascist Italy, fasco-socialist Germany under the Nazis, and under the USSR there were unions... very strong unions, they refered to the name of trade-unions, but they were still unions
"As things stand today, the unions in my opinion cannot be dispensed with. On the contrary, they are among the most important institutions of the nation's economic life. Their significance lies not only in the social and political field, but even more in the general field of national politics. A people whose broad masses, through a sound trade-union movement, obtain the satisfaction of their living requirements and at the same time an education, will be tremendously strengthened in its power of resistance in the struggle for existence".
sounds like something pelosi,or reid would say...yet it was hitler who said it(chap 12 of mein kampf)
marxsim..syndicalism...unionizing....syndicating.. .. a commune
again...what they, commune says goes... no individualism, no success, no freedom
its like the unions... :
union: we are going on strike tomorrow, YOU WILL join us
Me: nah, I like my job, it pays my needs, i don't want to strike
union: you will strike for the many, or you will be beaten up and fired

So you are now going to go by the definition of what is pure rather than what they call themselves LOL!
If we go by what is pure, then pure Communism, pure Socialism, and pure Capitalism exist nowhere on the planet and never have.
And the point in that is, you cannot state which system is superior since they have never been practiced.
The commonality in all failures is when the system at the top becomes self serving rather than serving the people, which is what we have now in the USA.
Corporations, Banks and Politicians pretty much control the state and are a bunch of self serving aholes that are destroying this country for their own greed.
