An inconvenient truth for Trump supporters: "Nones" now outnumber white evangelicals (death, ideology)

America is not going back to church. Our current moment in history is the last gasp of an ideology on its way out. I think it's time that the left becomes more outspoken against the theocracy that conservatives want to impose.

Op, think this through. We’ve never been a theocracy. Church participation% is down and NOW we don’t have to worry about becoming theocracy? I think you should self examine your paranoid self. There are no death camps, no nuke war, no church is coming to get you. Really, get some new material.
Only a small minority of "conservatives" are evangelicals with dreams of imposing a theocracy. the majority are non-, or only mildly religious members of either "mainstream", or non-denominational churches. And a growing number are secular libertarians, who base their theories on the thoughts of secular intellectuals like Ayn Rand, but aren't particularly anti-religious, either.
In short, it's the SJW crowd who are becoming increasingly paranoiac; Keep spewing, little Snowflakes -- you're turning more moderates into Trumpsters every day.

Just as the Cult of the Braying Jackass panders to all the losers who believe that somewhere, there's a vault full of money they can "redistribute".
If the Democrats could call off their point-and-grunts, the rest of us could easily do the same -- because the Republican / conservative "captive embarrassment" is much smaller in numbers -- and somewhat more capable of reason.

And for once we are in agreement; but Political Correctness and "identity politics" are just other forms of faux loyalty to a different (and sometimes changeable) set of Absolutes, coupled with a desire for power in order to impose those Absolutes on all of us, just as with Marx, Hitler and Stalin.
And I know which one I view as the greater threat.

You do realize that non evangelicals voted for Trump, don't you? In fact, just by the numbers more of his supporters are non evangelicals than evangelicals.
But, continue to believe that religion is the driving motivator behind Trump's win. Ignore the fact that people are sick of the identity politics. Ignore the fact that the Democrats managed to nominate the least electable candidate that has graced politics in 50 years. Continue on the path that the Democrats are following. That's a sure strategy to win in 2020.
