But that's ok too
Because November gives everyone with a cell phone and Internet access a way to vote on net neutrality
The House and Senate Republicans will support "Net neutrality" under current Title I regulations and President Trump will happily sign a telecommunications bill with this in it into law. If enough Senate Democrats will vote for this bill - which would end their ability to whine about this topic and try to fund-raise off of it - then it will be law before the end of the summer.

But what would the "Resistance" say to Democrats voting for a bill legislating "Net neutrality" that is signed into law by President Trump? That would be a victory for President Trump! Would Senate Democrats rather have "Net neutrality," or deny a victory to President Trump?

I hope the bill passes. If it doesn't pass, it will be because Senate Democrats voted against it. Watch and see.

Given that the federal government is currently pursuing a witch hunt against President Trump, I don't trust them with this power of regulation over the Internet. And as the GOP likes open borders and Common Core, I don't trust them either.

Corporate abuse of power is bad. Giving the government too much power over our lives is WORSE!

Here is brief explanation of what net neutrality is.
  • Net Neutrality has nothing to do with free.
  • Net neutrality doesn't preclude your ISP from offering you different tiers of service.
  • Net neutrality doesn't preclude your ISP from charging you by the bit, byte, speed or any other measure of the level of service you receive. There is absolutely no limitations on what they can charge you their customer except for one....
What they are precluded from doing is charging you a different rate based on what sites and services you are using. they are also precluded for hindering access to those site and services.

Here is a simple analogy. If your ISP was the water company they could charge you by the gallon if they wanted or charge you flat rate, they could charge you for different pressures or have one pressure available. They could charge for any combination of the two. What they couldn't do is charge you more because you were using a Maytag washer instead of their preferred model. Nor could they lower the pressure or amount of water available to the Maytag because GE paid them for more water/pressure.

That is NN in a nutshell and anyone that tells you otherwise is lying.
I don't know exactly when it happened but somewhere along the way people like PAI seem to have forgotten the whole point of their job is to protect the public interest.
Yet Pai does not even pretend he is working for Americans, instead he is openly working against the public and for his corporate masters.

I hope to hell the DOJ tag him, because he is as dirty as hell.

And just to add one more thing, the capabilities of either washer are only limited by how much water/pressure you are paying for. If you are only paying for a low amount of volume neither will perform well. If one can perform better with a higher volumes of water and you are paying for a higher volume of water it will outperform the other one.

If you're talking about a universal basic income/government handout for everyone, you are so far from sanity you couldn't see it with the Hubble telescope.

Show vote, nothing more. Transparently so. The House would also have to vote yes. They will not even take it up prior to June 12, which is the effective date.

Every single Democrat voted to restore net neutrality.

ALL but 3 Republicans voted to KILL net neutrality.

It's clear who the GOP represents.

It's not the consumer.

This is an issue that you should care about, regardless of political affiliation, and if you value using the www how you have been for years past.

Bill presented by Sen. Markey, the guy who thinks he is the expert on all things TV cable/internet. This is the guy, when a House rep. pushed a bill that he said would lower our cable bill every month. His bill was passed and signed. Has anyone experienced having a lower cable bill?
