A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $1,000 to send a Mariachi band and taco truck to a New York attorney whose racist rant went viral earlier this week.
Aaron Schlossberg was recorded berating cafe employees for speaking Spanish in New York City on Tuesday. He was reportedly kicked out of his office space on Thursday and had a formal complaint filed against him by a New York congressman.
THe point of your story isn't that the employees shouldn't have been speaking Spanish to each other and ignoring you -- it wasn't the language they were speaking....it was the behavior.
They should not have been ignoring a customer -- speaking Spanish or English.
That's different then what set this guy off.
The person helping the customer and the customer (a regular) were talking to each other in Spanish and that bugged him.
That's not an issue of poor customer service at all.
Judging by what some people are linking about this guy, there are probably lots of things that sets him off. Perhaps we should be discussing mental illness?
Funny considering a majority of Hispanics consider themselves white.
Actually, most are at least half white so what was that about the white race disappearing again? The Spanish were/are white. I'm more concerned about retaining our identifying culture and language then worrying about skin color or race.
It's great that New Yorkers have money to throw away on things like this. And how do they know that he doesn't love tacos? I can't understand a lick of Mandarin, but if someone sent me Chinese take-out I'd be in hog heaven.
