Lifeexplorer, you usually do a much better job of trying to be over the top and controversial with your button-pushing threads, but the entire premise here is faulty.

If you had asked if wanting your child to marry someone of the same race is racist, it would have at least made sense.

This makes no sense. It's like asking if Christians who date and marry other Christians are antisemitic.

Hey OP, the elite want their children to marry rich, is that classism? Besides, it's common to marry someone who has the same background, upbringing and even looks. op, stop trying so hard.

If I had decided to have a child, I would have hoped for a daughter who looked and acted just like me. And I wouldn't have been happy with one that was from another race.

Isn't is just a natural biological desire to want to have a legacy of continuing ones bloodline and culture? I wouldn't want to raise a child in a manner where they didn't know, understand and want to be like my family's traditions and values.

A trap!

The question didn't ask.....

"Would paying your friends and family NOT to date outside of their race be racism?".

The answer is clearly yes.

Tribally most of us are attracted like to like...or close. Nothing wrong with that. Much of that has been cemented because of the vast differences between people (modern and not)....which are now less obvious. So whereas I may have been less likely to marry a "native" of various countries 100 years ago, the same would not apply today...not at all.

Those who I know who have married people from other countries, regions, races, ethnicities, etc - there is not much culture shock because of mass communication and transportation.

I even have a friend who dumped his "religious wife" (his mom made him marry within the religion) and now he is married with children...to a beautiful and smart Chinese gal. She is a really fine person and he is 10X as happy as he was with his "religion and race" partner that mom forced him into.

Well this would make 98% of the world racist. Even in multicultural large western cities upwards of 90% of people marry/date people of their own race. It's hereditary to be attracted to people who look and have the same interests, culture as you.

If you haven’t noticed, 98% of the world are racist!

You need to get out of US once in a while.

Of course it isn't racist, it is simply a preference . For example, I have seen a lot of really beautiful black ladies, gorgeous............however, I am simply not attracted to them. Blondes and redheads are my preference, and so I tended to date/marry women like that.

But, that is not saying I would not be happy to date someone who was black, I have had close relationships with a few very nice black women in my life.
