"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we're stopping a lot of them — but we're taking people out of the country. You wouldn't believe how bad these people are. These aren't people. These are animals. And we're taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that's never happened before. And because of the weak laws, they come in fast, we get them, we release them, we get them again, we bring them out. It's crazy."
Is he saying they're stopping MS-13 gang members and releasing them?
Margaret did not ask a question. She stated that there "could be an M-13 member" in the midst of the people coming in but unless she has evidence that reaches a certain threshold she can't tell anyone.
Trump responds with:
"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we’re stopping a lot of them — but we’re taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals."
Nothing about the possible M-13 member(s) in the midst of the people coming into the country and being taken out.
You can gaslight and BS each other if you want.
But the rest of us can hear quite plainly what Trump said.
It's amazing that someone is really trying this hard to spin Trump's words into something that he didn't say just so that they can accuse him of playing identity politics. What's the matter? Afraid he might steal the Democrats' core strategy?

And completely ignoring all the posts with proof that this is being taken out of context.

Meanwhile they're locking up families?
That's why this makes no sense if he was talking about MS-13 gang members.

Surely, ICE isn't releasing MS-13 gang members.
you pretend to be surprised? these are the policies that your party advocates!
Quote:
According to ICE statistics provided to the Senate Judiciary Committee, over a nine-month period in FY2017, 142 gang members that ICE was seeking to deport were released by the local law enforcement agency instead of transferred to ICE custody. Two-thirds of the releases occurred in California, which has had a strict sanctuary policy in effect since January 2014. Fifteen of the aliens were members of the MS-13 gang and 127 were members of other gangs.
Most of the MS-13 gang member releases were in Maryland, with five MS-13 members released by Montgomery County and four by Prince George's County. Our research has documented a significant MS-13 problem in Maryland, finding 84 MS-13 members arrested between 2012 and 2018 in Maryland, second only to the gang's birthplace in California.
Ten gang members, including three MS-13 members, were released in the sanctuary state of Washington, which is not typically considered a major hotbed of MS-13 activity. This may indicate either the spread of MS-13 cliques from California or the resurgence of local MS-13 branches, perhaps fueled by the resettlement of newly arrived illegal alien youths and families from Central America.
This sounds a lot like Trump and company walking back that "very fine people" comment about the Unite the White group in Charlottesville.
Independents who didn't vote for Trump don't believe your spin any more than Trump supporters do. My thirteen-year-old doesn't even believe your spin. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that you believe your spin.
The link to the Center for Immigration Studies needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
"The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) is a non-profit research organization “that favors far lower immigration numbers and produces research to further those views.”
"Reports published by the CIS have been widely deemed misleading and riddled with basic errors by scholars on immigration; think tanks from across the ideological and political spectrum; media of all stripes; several leading nonpartisan immigration-research organizations; and by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement."
"The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) published reports in 2002 and 2009 connecting CIS to John Tanton, who helped found various other organizations, including the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and NumbersUSA, and showing he has ties to white supremacy groups and a eugenics foundation (SPLC). Bottom line, this is a hate group. (2/8/2017)"
