Trump had even less business. He should be in a mental institution, not the WH.

Fiorina was at least a very successful self-made businesswomen, and can speak in normal English, not gibberish like Trump.

Uh, people often read books......to learn what others think and do.

How is this a revelation for Trumpies?

I heard that many so-called Christians read the Bible (or have it translated to them by some dude who asks for money) so that they can feel superior to us city folk.

Is that true?

Excellent book and amazing story.

I doubt if the Op read the book or anything else.

Rhetorical question, ain't it?

It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. Randomparent recommended it to me.

It explains and puts a face on white poverty that you can’t understand if you’re black and looking at it as an outsider.

All African Americans should read it. White poverty is a more fascinating phenomenon.

What does that have to do with the book he’s recommending?

Oh, the cluelessness. By you, not by Booker.

Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis is a memoir by J. D. Vance about the Appalachian values of his upbringing and their relation to the social problems of his hometown.

Like many people from disenfranchised groups, the author has embraced a term often used as a pejorative. That author, J.D. Vance, is a registered Republican and a Marine Corps veteran of Iraq.

As for the Townhall article... why am I not surprised that they sneer in contempt at those who attempt to gain knowledge about things beyond their own experience by reading accounts written by those who do have first-hand experience with those things?

Seems like Democrats intend to win by bashing rural America.

I wonder how their rural bashing strategy is going to do in November. Especially the large rural populations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan and other former swing states.

I wonder why a senator who represents this and was mayor of this.

mocks this.

I thought that the GOP was the party of the rich according to the left. Then why this fixation on hillbillies?

Booker isn't in the GOP, and reading a book doesn't mean you're "fixated" on something.

Congratulations to the OP, whose post I nominate for the "Stupid Post of the Day" award.

Love it when people start a thread quoting a link they did not read, nor did they understand. LMAO.
