According to CNN, an armed person walked into an art class and began firing with what looked like a shotgun. They've arrested the shooter, and they've detained a 2nd person. 8 confirmed dead.

Most of these teens/ young adults are on the Schizophrenic spectrum, an incurable biological condition.

Nothing to do with school systems, poor azz parenting and decaying society.

I do not understand anyone who allows guns in their home when the home is shared with an unstable person.

Stop the world, I'm getting off.

So sick of these school shootings, so sick of everyone's energy on the matter channeled into the ridiculous pro-vs anti gun culture war instead of working on real solutions.

The 'blame' rests on a society that values style over substance, where attention is lavished on vapid personalities like the Kardashians or whoever flashes the most skin on social media.

There was a thread not long ago where it mentioned the ambition of young people was to be YouTube stars.

People are just narcissists these days, craving attention and ego stroking. Look at how much media attention was focused on the Parkland shooting and those involved. A lot of young people see that and think wow, look at what shooting up a school can do. Instant infamy and notoriety, and the media fixates on the shooter while people pointlessly bicker over irrelevant issues like gun control.

I suppose it's easier to blame guns than blame a society that has made media stars out of school shooters and those involved. Easier to blame guns than acknowledge that we have people in our society that are so desperate for fame and attention that the ends justify the means.

OMG, you can't be serious. "Kids not knowing how to deal with life these days". I hope you mean the shooter, and not the victims who you suggest just have to accept that we have guns, lots of guns, lot and lots of guns, and death when you go to school is "just part of life these days".

Sadly, it IS just part of life these days. When the dotard goes in front of the NRA and encourages them to implant more guns into our society, we have to accept more deaths. It really is not all that difficult. Instead of dealing with the excess gun issue, the conversation gets sidelined to "let's build more mental hospitals". More guns equals more gun deaths. You want to reduce gun deaths you reduce the number of guns.

America, for some unexplainable reason, is not ready to do that...yet. So we have our young people slaughtered, which seems to be acceptable. You could not make up a more bizarre scenario.

This country... we can’t even enjoy a little diversion like the Royal Wedding this weekend because our schools are like the Wild West. What an embarrassment! I’m SICK of it!

This... our culture is literally sick and because of that it's producing many, many horrible human monsters.

A ban doesn't stop people from owning or buying them. You do know that, right?
