Yup. There was a version of the MG34, the 34/41 that was good for 1,700 rpm but not many were made. For the sake of argument you could get 100+ rounds out of a Thompson submachine gun with 100 round drum mags. Especially with the model 1919, it was good for 1,500 rpm. Firing a Thompson at that rate must have been pretty interesting, and probably one of the reasons only 40 model 1919s were made.

"I spoke with Derek McDonald, Surefire's VP of Marketing, who called them "anti-ambush mags" because of the uninterrupted firepower they can provide during the critical, first 30 seconds of an ambush. He said, and later wrote in a press release, that "it takes the average soldier about 4 seconds to reload their weapon and reacquire a target. So, based on the rate of fire of a full-auto rifle, using 30-round magazines means a soldier can fire 150 rounds max in 30 seconds. But, with our 60-round mag he can fire 240 rounds in 30 seconds. And, 100-round magazine means about 300 rounds in the same time."

"So, based on the rate of fire of a full-auto rifle,"

What does that have to do with an AR-15 which is what was claimed it could do?

Answer. NOTHING. So why bring it up?

That, right there - the "what can you do?" as more people die - is the biggest lie made up to fit an agenda of them all.

Then you post, " the far-right does it all the time with their laughable claim that "nothing can be done about gun violence in America"

It looks like it is YOU who can't get their "facts" straight.

LOTS of things have been suggested by "the far-right" about gun violence in America.

You just never listened.

Their gun violence is UP.

The police have said the criminals are bring in semi-autos because the populous do NOT have them.

Interesting that these cities with high murder rates don't seem to get the so-called "mass shootings" where a gunman walks into a school (or church or theater) and starts intentionally mowing down random people.

Up from what? Is their gun violence equal to or higher than the USA? Year after year?

Let's look....

Their rate of gun deaths per 100K people went from about 4.5 (near ours) to about 1 - that's an incredible reduction and has held fairly steady for the last 10-12 years.

See:
Australia

Our rate is 4.62 (murders) and over 11 total firearms deaths, or over 450% larger than theirs.

Do you intentionally lie or do you really not know? I can accept if someone is bad at math, but spreading complete BS when the evidence is so dang clear - that seems wrong.

The "best states" in the USA (like MA.- with tough gun laws) have murder rates at about 2 per 100K and 3.4 if you include accidents and suicides. These are about 1/3 the national rates....see enclosed (CDC data).

Many people don't realize that a "bump stock" severely reduces the accuracy of the shooter. The only reason the Vegas shooter was able to kill so many was the crowd was confined, and tightly packed. Many were killed, and wounded by ricochets. Typically, slower, aimed fire is more deadly. Ask most soldiers, and Marines. They rarely use their fully automatic, and three burst selector as it is less accurate, and uses up ammo at too fast a rate. Dedicated "Machine Guns" are for suppressive fire.
