So, will any of the results of this investigation be believed if they prove there was nothing untoward happening in the Trump campaign? Donald Trump can't order an investigation into anyone or anything anymore than he can have Hillary Clinton jailed because he doesn't like her. In our system of government, those decisions are made by the appropriate parties. The Department of Justice determines whether an investigation is warranted or not. If so, it will be conducted by the FBI. If the FBI finds sufficient evidence that criminal laws were violated it will refer the matter to the Attorney General. The AG will than determine whether a prosecution is warranted. If so, an assistant US Attorney will present the matter to a federal grand jury for indictment. If the grand jury finds sufficient evidence to believe someone has committed a felony, the jury will return an indictment.
That's how the system works. What makes so many Trump supporters look so bleeping stupid is they don't seem to understand any of that. If DT wants something, than by golly he ought to get it and we ought to throw protections that have existed for two hundred years out the window.
There were many reasons it was a mistake to elect DT President, but one that is frequently overlooked is that a corporate executive and tycoon generally has little understanding of how the Constitution and the legal system work. I'm not particularly surprised that someone with this background thinks he can simply ignore any law he doesn't like and just do things the way he wishes. That's how it works in banana republics and countries governed by military dictatorships. Its not how things are done in countries governed by the rule of law and fortunately the USA still fits that category.
