It is another reason for NOT detaining the ladies because no illegal alien in his right mind will go to a place where he stick like a Giraffe in a flock of geese.
Of course it is. But that doesn't change the fact that it is rare in that location therefore a reasonable suspicion. I am not condoning nor castigating what he did as that is up to his superiors.

I'm guessing you never finished high school. Ask any attorney or a para legal, or anyone on the street if you're detained by the police, that's means you're arrested. Even ask your pals here, maybe even Wikipedia, sad you know so little.
In regard to his questioning that's up to the officer to articulate the factors as to what caused his reasonable suspicion. Time of day, personal observation of their behavior, rational inferences. For all I know in this case it may have been a voluntary contact. The police do not need any sort of proof to conduct a voluntary encounter and you're under no obligation to cooperate.
