Every state with a major city needs a voter ID requirement. Most illegal aliens congregate in major cities.

If you can get out to vote, you can get out to get an ID.

No requirement is merely a means to facilitate illicit voting.

An ID requirement protects the fundemantal integrity of our democracy.

They could have a truck drive around town visiting all the places where these people live and give them the ID's for free.

Should they wipe their ass for them too?

61 votes is not going to swing an election either way. You sound like the type of person that would spend a million dollars to find 10,000 dollars in fraud.

No system is 100% perfect, and if you knew anything about math or statistics you would know that 61 out of 5 million is statistically insignificant and doesn't mean anything.

People slip thru every system and that doesn't diminish the effectiveness or validity of those systems nor does it mean we should throw out those systems and start over.

IF you want 100% success in verifying ID for voting for example, all we have to do is hire the companies and employees that operate the security systems at various casinos around the world. I have no doubt they could achieve 100% success, but its going to cost a lot of money, and no politicians are willing to spend that kind of money.

In the end its not about encouraging people to vote, its about making it more difficult. Along with the jerrymandering these politicians are shameless. Eventually all these clowns are going to die off, and hopefully the younger people behind us will be smarter than they were. I hope I live long enough to witness the change.

If they're Republicans hell yes. They can also kiss while down there.

Quite frankly, in the majority of cases it is not really that hard to get ID! I would think it would be very difficult to get by in our society without one. Don't banks require ID? How about programs to help the poor such as welfare and food stamps, etc...ID required? Purchase of alcohol? Purchase of a gun? Getting married?

I think you get the point.

Tell that to anyone who had their vote canceled due to fraud. And every vote counts these days since the country is so divided.

Those 61 incidents were just a test. Imagine how many times this happens for real. I doubt it would be considered statistically insignificant.

No, they’re not. Stop with the excuses! See all previous posts for why.

For all the people who say there are many poor black people who can’t get photo ID, wouldn’t those people be better off with an ID anyway? They could probably get better jobs, the ones that actually require documentation. How are so many people living without ID? I’ve never had a job that I didn’t have to provide my ID and actual social security card for them to copy.

As for the elderly who may not have a record of their births because they weren’t born in a hospital, I’m sure they could make provisions for that with other documentation. And they should. Someone who has lived here for 80 years or so probably has a record trail somewhere.

So much for that argument. This should be a wake up call to anyone.
that is a different scenario than what I wrote (see below). those people were not 'anyone off the street'. they obviously had at least the names of people who were registered to vote.
