Unfortunately, much of Trump in unprecedented, and mostly never in a good way.

Trump Versus Law Enforcement: A Confrontation With No Precedent
By Peter Baker and Katie Benner

For more than a year, President Trump has been at war with law enforcement agencies that answer to him, interjecting himself into an investigation in which he himself is a subject. And he has escalated the conflict drastically in recent days by accusing the F.B.I. of placing a “spy” inside his 2016 campaign, pressuring the agencies to reveal secret information and demanding an investigation of his investigators.

The confrontation has no precedent in the modern era and holds great stakes not just for the president but for the relative autonomy for law enforcement investigations established after Watergate. Mr. Trump’s allies argue that he has every right to manage the executive branch and every reason to be outraged at possible misconduct aimed at his campaign. But many law enforcement veterans say he is wreaking untold damage on institutions that form the bulwark of a democratic society.

Placing a spy in oppositions camp is certainly unprecedented

It's "unprecedented" for Investigative. (FBI) & Intelligence (CIA) apparatus in the USA to attempt a coup against a sitting President or to attempt to keep a Political candidate from winning an election.

It's been a War against Donald Trump by these agencies for years and they have yet to find any evidence or bring any charges against him.

It's cute that you're mimicking Trump's language, but it's not a matter of placing a spy. The FBI's duty is to conduct investigations. Perhaps if Trump didn't have such an unprecedented record of shady deals and criminal associations, he wouldn't have been ensnared.

Unprecedented does not automatically imply inappropriate.

One thing you have to say about Trump, he certainly is consistent. Consistently stupid. All this does is weaken our position to fight crime and our reputation around the world.

The man is an ass.

The CIA & FBI, who the left used to be very weary of until it became politically convenient to blindly accept anything they say as fact, launched a coup d'etat attempt against the POTUS in conjunction with the Clinton campaign & Obama admin. It is certainly unprecedented & it will be even more unprecedented when they all go to prison.

He’s certainly set a precedent for future Presidents and their supporters to move this country toward an authoritarian state and thumb their noses at the democratic institutions of governance that thousands of American veterans have fought and died for. Putin and his crowd must be howling in delight.

If law enforcement has nothing to hide why are they resisting so vehemently to hand over information?
The " national security" excuse is just smoke and mirrors. Oversight has clearance. What he's doing is bringing
The practice of law enforcement into the light and they're not happy about it. They're too used to acting with
Impunity.

Trump criticizes the corrupt people at the top of those agencies, may of whom have been fired, resigned, demoted, not the decent rank and file. Can't wait for FBI whistleblowers to tell us what really went on. They want a PUBLIC hearing.

Worse than Watergate by a mile. Probably worse political abuse of power scandal in US history.
