People always use freedom of speech arguments for everything from firings for tweets to not standing for the national anthem. All freedom of speech means is that the govt can't lock you up for speaking freely or protesting. By most peoples logic, I could tell my boss to F off and he couldn't fire me. Did people not pay attention in middle school history and politics class??

So what you're saying is that it's perfectly acceptable for companies to fire conservatives who express racist, sexist, or otherwise nasty opinions.

Good to know we're in agreement

The NFL is not your garden variety company. It needed a congressional exemption of anti-trust laws.

Moreover, there is a union involved. So there is that consideration. Currently, there is an on-going collussion claim by the NFLPA regarding Kapaernik not finding employment. Let's see how that plays out.

the MLB and NBA both also have exemptions from the anti trust act as well, so what?

as for the players union, they might gain a bit of traction with the kneeling issue, but when it comes to signing players to a team, or releasing players from a team, that is up to the teams themselves, not the union. even if all the team owners got together to decide not to sign kaepernick, doesnt matter. kaepernick did it to himself, and not just with his protest, but with his overall attitude of being spoiled brat in the locker room as a disruptive influence.
