Here we have 31 pages on 8 unnamed 'white nationalist' candidates. I always wonder why there are never citations of the numbers of 'white nationalists' in the US. I can spend 30 seconds on google to find out that Libertarian Gary Johnson got 4.5 million votes (3.27%) in 2016, an all time L record (doubtless got many R crossovers). I know very well the percentages of various minority groups. I've seen numbers on the number of gays in the US. We had a self-described socialist who did pretty well in the 2016 primaries. We have in Seattle a self-described 'Marxist' city councilwoman who was able to win election.

But I've never seen credible numbers on 'white nationalists.' Could that be because the numbers are embarrassingly, vanishingly small? Is there even one self-described 'white nationalist' elected anywhere in the US, even as dogcatcher?

I posted this before, but it's worth a replay.

Around 1990 I was living near St. Louis, MO. There were a bunch of news stories about a group of white supremacists who were 'patrolling' a town called Overland, about 7 miles west of St. Louis (not too far from Ferguson). There were several days of coverage on TV, radio, and print--the whole nine yards. IIRC the group had a used police cruiser, radios, etc.

I happened to know several Overland police officers, so I asked one about the group. The cop's reply: "You mean all two of them?"

People forget to realize that racists vote Republican not because the party is racist in itself but because you'd rather support a party that protects free speech over a party that has stood to define hate speech in order to regulate speech.

That was one of the most hilarious interviews I've ever seen. Spencer didn't want to kill any so-called racial minorities in America but he wanted whites to always have an advantage like they have always had and he admitted that that advantage is being threatened due to increases in educated minority groups in America - including blacks. Though these sorts of white nationalists often seem to try to pit Asians against blacks, they view Asians as just as much, if not more of a threat than black Americans because they hold racist views of Asians that fuels their fear. It is the same sort of view that caused the creation of the Chinese Exclusion Act in the first place.
This right here is a big part of what white supremacy is about. We have some people out there who say things like "Blacks are inferior" or "Blacks aren't smart enough". And yet, if someone who is a minority rises above all of that, said minority is feared by said white supremacist. Richard Spencer recognizes that a person who isn't White could do very well and succeed, and it scared him. In his mind, minorities are supposed to be inferior and out of sight from American society. Richard Spencer made his point perfectly clear. He fears having to compete with anyone who is capable. In short, a scared little brat. However, if this scared little brat ever had his way, minorities would be excluded from American society.

Normally, it is commonplace to to see White supremacists pit Asians against Blacks, or at the very least, use Asians as a way to spite Black people. It all boils down to power.

For me, being that I am not ignorant of the ideology of white supremacy and I know said ideology is based upon fear of the individual who espouses it - I find it hilarious when I come across people today who act like they have some sort of worthy cause in trying to ensure the superiority (advantages) of the "white race" and to ensure that they maintain their superiority. They are throwbacks.
It is based on fear. It was the same fear that drove southern planters to bring on a secession that would lead to the American Civil War. They wanted to keep slavery around. They feared that the Black slaves, once free, would be a problem for Whites. People feared competition. People who argued about how slavery was the "natural state of the African" were really in fear. Yes, they looked down on Blacks. However, there was also a fear. There was a fear of being proven wrong. If Blacks were so inferior, why would there be laws forbidding Black slaves from learning how to read? Fear. The educated person is the hardest person to enslave.

As I noted earlier though, I don't get all that bothered by them. I am not a fearful person in general and I'm glad more of them are vocal about their views as it means I can easily know who is a psycho and/or enemy of mine. I also feel that most white Americans are pretty shocked by these people because most people in general don't sit around and complain and plot to ensure their superiority in society. However, I do think we should keep an eye on these folks. They can become dangerous and there are a lot of naive people in the world who believe everything that someone tells them.
I'm not you though. I do have a fear of said persons trying to hold political office. I do not trust them to serve the public fairly. Just their ideology is enough for me. I agree with keeping an eye on said persons. They can and have proven themselves to be dangerous.

I'm willing to bet that a majority of individuals are not bigoted. However, there are just enough people out there who might vote for someone like a David Duke. David Duke won over 400,000 votes in round one of the Louisiana gubernatorial election in 1992. He beat out incumbent Buddy Roemer, who was actually doing a good job as governor of Louisiana. The election went into runoff. While David Duke lost to Edwin Edwards in the runoff, David Duke got over 600,000 votes. That is scary to me.

And FWIW as a black American, I also feel that this new rise of white nationalism is actually causing a similar rise in the "hotep" class of blacks, who are very similar to white nationalists but are black.
I know about the rise of "hotep" Blacks. I don't have any respect for them either. I'm not for any of that. I'm all for Black people becoming entrepreneurs. I am not for that "hotep" stuff. I've seen some of this stuff on youtube.

I get a lot of that nonsense in the SF Bay Area where I live. And they'll claim that we should shut up and not complain about how good we have it here.

Sad to say, the poster I've referenced lives (or lived) in the same county as me, so I'm not naive that there are folks with these sort of views. But the future belongs to us, and he belongs in the dustbin of history.
Some people have also used Hispanic/Latino people as a stalking horses against Blacks. Some persons will complain about Hispanic persons coming to the USA illegally. On the other hand, some persons will point to Hispanics and say "Those Hispanic immigrants are hard workers. We prefer them over Blacks".

I never grew up hearing any complaining about Asians in the Atlanta area. I am familiar of how some people in California complaining about Asians in the public schools. I heard of cases where some people go to private schools because they felt that Asians were making the public schools "too competitive".

Well I see that this thread has not been closed yet...lol... Rev Wright didn't say anything stupid until Barack Obama was a US senator and the United States of America President. Prior to Barack attaining National position and Prestige , Rev Wright didn't have a platform to make any statements or comment on.

This is as simple as ABC one two three (123) , Rev Wright believed in black folks pulling themselves up by their bootstraps until Barack gave him a national platform, and he showed himself to be a fool by talking this "God Damn America nonsense " tangent that he jumped on. Barack Obama instantly separated himself and his family from Reverend Wright....

Barack Obama denounce his Pastor and would have denounced his sister ,mother. auntie and cousin if Need be for making a stupid statement like that. As far as Barack Obama and Farrakhan is concern , you will not find anything from Farrakhan political platform on Barack Obama political platform.

President Donald Trump and the white supremacist movement and KKK and David Duke have a lot of the same stuff on their political platforms.

If you believe that Barack Obama have anything in common with Reverend Wright and (far I can) Farrakhan you believe in (Fake News).

2nd sentence. Who are you talking about when you say "we"? I'm hoping it means all of us as Americans.
When I say we I mean all of our ancestors in different capacities of course.
