You don't seem to know much about how journalism works. Why don't you go to some news site and look at today's stories - pick out the parts that are factually wrong, and come back and tell us.
You can't use the law to "force" people to report "the facts," because then the law is used to decide upon what will be considered fact, and that is a horrible idea.
No, the problem is too many people aren't interested in the facts. That's how you end up with a sociopath president like Trump with a staggering number of obvious lies spewed regularly, and yet he's completely trusted by about 1 in 3 Americans. Even only reporting the facts in a case like that has no effect, because if it did, nobody would support Trump. But Trumpers are operating with emotions, not facts, so in the end, for some people the facts just don't matter.
