Italy isn't the only EU nation cracking down:

In Paris, police clear out two more migrant camps - France 24

Mind you France has cleared out almost 30K from various migrant camps over past three years. Things just end up like scattering rats from nests; that is the migrants simply congregate somewhere else. Slowly it is becoming apparent to French government housing and services are going to be required. That surely will set off a huge debate both on the street and elsewhere.

Deputy Paris Mayor For Emergency Housing Ian Brossat said "the large majority" from the Paris camps "will see their asylum rights recognized in one of the European countries."

Brossat said that an incident last month in which two migrants drowned nearby, and the proliferation of bloody fights between rival camp dwellers, have increased pressure on the French Interior Ministry to close the camps and provide lodging for the migrants.

"There have been abominable conditions in these camps and the government has finally understood that there is no other solution that sheltering them," he said.

Paris police have already cleared out some 28,000 migrants from Paris camps in the past three years, but the arrivals haven't slowed.

From your article it appears as if France may let most of them stay or at least push them off on another European country.

Can we fix world poverty through mass immigration to countries with freebies? I am not so sure.

France at this point is running out of options.

Large numbers of these migrants arrived in France from other EU nations (like Italy) in hopes of getting across the Channel to UK. Hence the huge camps at Calais that were repeatedly cleared out/shut down. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calais_Jungle

As noted in above linked articles good majority of these migrants do not speak French, but have a firm enough grasp of English. Hence the attraction of getting to UK.

With UK set to leave the EU it throws even more fuel onto the fire. Once out of the EU Britain will have no legal requirement to accept even those granted asylum IIRC. They will have to stay in the EU, so yes, looking for other countries to accept does seem like a good option as France cannot absorb them all.

France is rich, they can afford to pay for new housing for migrants....just sell more wine.

Slow boat to Libya and put them all up for sale on the Slave blocks, that have been created there. Get rid of them and fill the French Treasury with easy money, to pay for the fuel to get them there.

France should take a lesson from history on how to deport people.

The Muslim migrants were lousy guests. This is the result. You can't come into somebody else's house, act like you own the place and start beating up the people already living there.

I have mixed feelings on the European Union as a concept. But the EU made the fatal mistake of betting the farm on having an unlimited influx of Muslim immigrants. It's going to end badly for the Muslims and everyone involved and I will be amazed if the EU survives their blunder.

The urge...

It is a solution, with a way to break even for their cost.
Why would there be Muslim Slave Blocks in Libya, if not for Hillary killing Kadofi and returning it to a 3rd century ****hole.

Turn the clock back?
Slavery in the Islamic world, never ended.
The Quran encourages it.

You knew that.
