While I do not completely agree with the idea that the ruling only came about because the commissioner was a jerk you are doing the very same thing. It helped Hillary to lose also.

It's amazing how so many are unable to understand how this works.

It was really a split decision. Seven justices ruled in favor of the baker for different reasons. Basically, it sounds like they were upset about how Colorado attacked the baker’s faith more so than they were ruling in favor of the baker based on the actual issues in the case. I think the whole case is pretty dumb. But I don’t totally disagree with the gays to some extent here. If we let anyone make up any reason to discriminate against people under the guise of religion, then all of the anti-discrimination laws are basically worthless.

Did you see the 2 homosexuals in question on TV? They cried when they could not get their cake.

Can you imagine if the country was composed of all homosexual men like that?

For one thing we would be extinct without artificial babies. But in the big picture we would cease to be a country as the homosexuals could not defend the country. I mean, if you cry over a cake and are as broken up as these 2 homosexuals were...what will you do when it comes time to kill people?

With a homosexual population like that we would all be speaking Chinese or Russian. This is natures way of saying that the abnormal homosexual goes against natural law and a country will be decimated with large homosexual population. Either through reproduction issues or from not being able to stand strong.

It sounds like a gay bakery (hey that has a snappy ring to it ) has opportunity to step up here. $$ to be made in specialty.

Let them keep it up and continue losing. They think anyone who doesn't think exactly as they do are *hate* filled. It's all black and white. They are not deep thinkers and I'm sure don't get what the problem was with the way the commissioner spoke because -- "Punch the Nazis!" Fortunately the Supreme court, with the exception of the usual suspects, was rational.

It's amazing how many people continue to claim that the baker was discriminating against gay people, as if he completely refuses to serve them. Meanwhile, in the real world, he refused to create a cake celebrating an activity that he disagreed with on moral and religious grounds. This case should never have seen the inside of a court room.

Kennedy reasoned that Phillips, in refusing to create a same-sex wedding cake, had good reason to believe he was within his rights. State law at the time allowed merchants some latitude to decline specific messages, such as those demeaning gay people and gay marriages.

The government cannot impose regulations hostile to citizens' religious beliefs, the ruling said.
The bolded line is what is so vital, and we are blessed to have this superb SC recognizing that.
