When you commit a turnover in college, your teammates all come over and encourage you, give you a pep talk, etc., but when you do it in the NFL, you're on an island, all alone, because they know, and you know, you are not supposed to do that.

I prefer the NFL.

And as a 6 year Army vet, I didn't serve so that patriotism was made mandatory in this country, I served so that we had freedom to choose, and I respect those who take an unpopular stand for the right reasons. I like the NFL more than I ever did (the players, not the owners, who are still a group of douchebag billionaires, with a few exceptions).

I'm a fan now! I tuned out about a decade ago, but DAMN! Standing up for moral convictions is a hell of a lot better than the thuggery from a decade ago!

I'm a veteran and I don't care if people sit or stand for the anthem. That freedom is what makes this country great, not flag worship.

If you REALLY want to honor our veterans, get them quality healthcare and get thousands of them off the streets.

Standing up for the anthem at an NFL game does nothing to help our veterans, it just makes you feel better about yourself.
That is most definitely the case for many right now.

Love college and the NFL. Can't wait for it to all start again. I am a life long disheartened Chargers fan that married into a Bronco family. Football gatherings are a way of life in the Fall.

My BIL is a vet and he has no problem with the kneeling.

Mandatory displays of patriotism is the authoritarian path, typically enforced in communist countries.

It is a choice YOU make with neither a correct nor incorrect answer.

I chose to leave. Many of the owners in the NFL are sub human turds. I will not support them. They are not the only turds we have who reap far far more than they sow. shrug.

So you still watch YOUR team but not OTHER teams?

Wow, what a protest.
