Trump is such an idiot in addition to being a malignant narcissist

The affinity he has found issuing pardons that are not really researched and developed through the prior official channel reminds me of the character in "Schindler's List"--the breakout role for Ralph Finnes as Amon Goeth, the concentration camp commandant who has a great scene when Schindler (Liam Neeson) is persuading him that true power lies in restraint, in not giving in to impulsive behavior, not committing all the bad acts someone might be capable/empowered to do...
That worked for about 30 minutes when Goth "pardons" the young Jewish woman working as his maid vs raping her or worse...
And then when that restraint is really boring, goes right back to the vicious acts of murder (by shooting random inmates on the quad) he couldn't resist--because he had the desire and the unrestrained power...

That is Trump--unrestrained power leads to unrestrained excess and bad deeds...
Forget Hitler---Trump isn't that smart although he does have a flair for media propaganda Hitler shared

I am really hoping that Trump's newly discovered power of the pardon which makes him feel like Louis XIV will be what finally causes the GOP in Congress to take notice...and try to rein him in...

And I think if there is a Democratic Congress we might expect to see specific Consitutional amendment support to put some constraints on unbridled pardon powers...but would still need states' ratifications...

On the other hand, Trump's choices for Presidential pardons so far have been insights into his fear of the Mueller investigation and supposedly messages to those like Flynn and Manafort to hang tough...
So could be considered as attempts to influence the investigation and thus more evidence of obstruction of justice....
So as Trump usually puts his foot in his mouth if given enough rope--excuse the metaphor abundance but Trump lends himself to them--I am awaiting the list of new pardons to see how shocking or appropriate they might be...
Undoubtly Kardashian's plea will get her new person of interest one...but that leaves the door open for all those Sessions is trying to put in jail for the same reason...

Can you tell us how Trump has misused the pardon power?

Do you think Bill Clinton misused the pardon power?

No they don't think that. They think Clinton pardoning his brother was fantastic use of the power.

Hey--
If he had had HIS hand slapped, would Trump have unfettered powers now???
Gerald Ford pardoning Nixon was the ultimate proof that presidential pardons should be reviewed by an impartial judicial body prior to their enforcement...

You're mad because there is a Black lady - Alice Johnson on the News saying Thank You to President Trump.
Can't have a Black being grateful to Trump. Dems might lose votes over this one.

The power of the Pardon or Commute is fine just the way it is.
And I say that after Obama Pardoned the terrorist and murderer Oscar Lopez Rivera who should have died in prison.

The Obama pardon you should be mad about: Oscar Lopez Rivera - Chicago Tribune

There's no such thing as "misuse" of pardon power.

The President has full constitutional authority to pardon anyone he wants for any reason he sees fit.

Kind of the same way that he had full constitutional power to fire Comey for any reason or no reason.

Not sure what it is that's so hard for Libs to understand about this?

Ford pardoned Nixon and the investigation shut down. Never did find out whether Nixon was only involved in the cover up or was behind the burglary itself. Plenty of suspicion that Ford accepted the VP slot in exchange for promising to pardon Nixon.

Bush I pardoned those involved Iran/Contra affair, effectively shutting down that investigation. There is good reason to believe that Bush himself was involved in Iran/Contra. If so, he was pardoning co-conspirators in a crime he was involved in.
