If my 27 year old had that much in savings he was extremely foolish not to have obtained at least a catastrophic health care plan.

Should all the all-players have to fork over their money to pay the bill?

I don't know hospitals that don't take Obamacare patients. Around here that means Blue Cross Blue Shield. Also don't forget that Obamacare also meant Medicaid expansion in those states approving it. AZ hospitals put in $250M of their own money to push this. Surprising it passed. Not a big windfall, but on balance improved bottom lines due to less no payers.

You are either misinformed or deliberately spreading lies.

The states that did not sign up for ACA are losing rural hospitals.

What private insurance there was in these rural areas is long gone. In most rural areas, the only people with company paid insurance are those working for government or the medical centers. Everyone else is either on Medicare, Medicaid, or no insurance at all.

Nor are they forced into plans that don't have preferred providers in their areas.

Sometimes the government is evil. Just look at our wars. That said, no Libertarians do not. A Libertarian is not anti-government. They acknowledge that the government has a role.

Libertarians have a nomination process where they nominate someone to run for president. If you are anti-government you don't do this.

Yet they are first in line when it comes to getting federal aid. They are all the same, they believe gov should be exactly tailored to their needs and not a bit more. One will want no tax, no police, no nothing. the next will want everything we have but no social safety nets... To me they are massive hypocrites, their real agenda to to take take take and never give back a nickel.
No system is made where every single member all believe exactly the same thing.

What is forced is educating your child, not attendance at public school.

Lowering Medicare to 50-55 as per Hillary would have been a huge HC plus. Not only for those patients entering, but the relief of so many high risks off of Obamacare rolls.

Greed plays a huge role in closing rural hospitals.

"Using nearly a decade’s worth of data, researchers found that hospitals in Medicaid expansion states were 84 percent less likely to shutter than facilities in nonexpansion states. Rural hospitals were particularly vulnerable to closure, but kept their doors open in places that extended coverage to more patients, the study found."

Did I have pre existing conditions coverage?

No......but at least I could afford the deductibles when I needed to actually use my policy.

Now, it's pretty much nothing but a massively expensive catastrophic coverage plan. Even simple office visits are paid by me out of pocket and go towards my now quadrupled deductibles.

Dems should have passed something better or left well enough alone.
Obama laid out a good plan with the ACA but your republicans tried to shut it down from the get go and never gave the program a chance. The Repubs couldnt repeal it so they did the next best thing they defunded it ensuring higher than intended prices .

Rural hospitals are closing because they can't cover the bills.

In states that signed up for the ACA Medicaid expansion, they are closing at a far lower rate.
