Other countries don't have the illegal immigrant problem that we do. Other countries don't have the anchor baby problem that we do.

I'll make a deal with you - NO more illegals get ANY US taxpayer-funded aid. NONE. No more anchor babies. NONE.

Then we'll talk.

I'm so tired of this nonsense excuse about "give aways." It's a cheap argument that doesn't mean anything.

Keep lying about how the Socialist Democrats would have kept their seats by enacting the biggest Socialist reform in 100 years.

Lies? The (D)'s didn't get their asses kicked over this? The lies didn't **** people off? Really?
Exactly! They got their asses kicked for delivering a FOR PROFIT solution to a HC problem. You think they would have gotten their asses kicked LESS for delivering a SOCIALIST solution? GTFO.

Not true. There was absolutely NOTHING done about the cost side.

Is Obamacare really affordable? Not for the middle class.
There was not ENOUGH done for cost side. Practically all of those issues would have been wiped out with either more subsidies or states expanding Medicare.

You notice how it's not the people who got the subsidies or who got on Medicaid who are the horror stories? It's always people who couldn't get either.

anyone who has no money still can have some coverage but to expect those who have worked hard for thier money and yes, most people with money have worked for it, to help the entire country is just stupid. I don't expect to live in s mansion like those who have money do, I don't expect to drive a Lincoln when my income will only allow me a Ford and I don't expect to eat steak and Lobster every night when I have to watch my food budget, why should I expect to have the same health care a multi millionaire can afford?

No thank you.
A friend of mine is retired Army with 20 years of service and a host of health problems. He`s treated like a king at the VA in Pittsburgh. btw, the VA has nothing to do with this conversation.

Seniors only pay for about a third of the benefits they receive. We pay the rest for them. Medicare as we have it today is already socialized medicine, the difference is the only beneficiaries are those 65 and over. They are happy to vote benefits for themselves all day long. Notice how they didn't protest when Medicare Part D was passed but screamed their heads off at anyone else getting benefits. Seniors also benefit by receiving Medicaid for nursing home care. Seniors get Social Security, Medicare (which we heavily supplement for them) and Medicaid which is a full on hand out. Most nursing homes in this country are supported by Medicaid. Sounds very much like socialized medicine, but no complaints from seniors, they just smile and take it gladly.

We've seen that Republicans can come up with massive tax cuts where 83% of the benefits go to the top 1% of the country and they have no problem increasing the deficit by $1.5 Trillion in the blink of an eye. Those concerns about the deficit were lies, lies, lies. Suddenly it's walls along the border, tax cuts for the rich and military parades to stroke Trump's ego. Universal health coverage is absolutely possible if it's a priority.

Our education system is socialized and I don't see Republicans calling for the end of schools.

Let's stop publicly funding roads, replace them with toll roads and use the money spent on roads for universal healthcare. Lots of options.
That is very true, but think of all those years they paid into it? it is like saving your money and investing; while saving, hopefully that money was earning more money for you.

you CANT AFFORD medicare for all

1. its NOT 100% coverage...it IS a 75/25 INSURANCE that is extremely costly

100 billion in FRAUD, WASTE, and ABUSE in medicare out of a 700 billion budget

1/7th of the budget is wasted on fraud

in 1965 they said medicare would only cost 12 billion by 1990, it cost 3 billion to implement it in 1966
in 1990 medicare cost 107 billion
in 2000 medicare was 216 billion
in 2008 medicare was 456 billion
in 2016 medicare was 691 billion

what is even more interesting is what the predicted outlays will be in the future
in 2016 medicare was 691 billion
prediction for 2020....963 billion
prediction for 2026....1.383 Trillion

lets now add in Medicaid
Medicaid:
2000.....117 billion
2008.....201 billion
2016.....368 billion

actual Medicaid 2016.....368 billion
prediction for 2020....450 billion
prediction for 2026....616 Billion

so the prediction is medicare and Medicaid is expected to be over 2 trillion dollars is less than 9 years
that's just the GOVERNMENT costs of Medicare and Medicaid... and medicare/Medicaid covers less than 1/4 of our population.. on top of that you have the VA..and then what the PEOPLE are already paying for private insurance....do you really think multiplying the cost of medicare by 5 to cover 325 million people is so smart do you think the taxpayers can afford an additional 5-7 trillion dollars annually....where do you think the MAGIC MONEY is going to appear from

Let's privatize the VA. Let's privatize Medicare. Let's experiment with that now and see what it looks like. I'll just watch this, thanks. Tell seniors and VA beneficiaries they now have a voucher and good luck because Trump supporters think private companies are better than the government.

The democrats have already come up with a working plan - I think you forget that it is the Republicans who have not been able to create anything workable - the reason - probably because nobody can find a way to get rich off it. How long has it been now that Republicans have been promising workable insurance? 9 years and NOTHING?

Nobody except for a small portion of those on the right believe Obamacare was disastrous and most of those who say so only parrot this nonsense and can't articulate good reasons the old system should have remained in place. Obamacare was step in the right direction, not a great step, but a good one... trump got his dirty hands in the pie and made something merely adequate bad. It is time to finish the job and go to full coverage for everyone.

It is time this country took care of those who need medical care (read: all of us.)

Corporations don't want to pay for medical for their employees and individuals not covered under ripoff group plans never could afford it. Hell, they are trying their best now to also get rid of the promised pension plans.

The only people who were absolutely happy with the system as it was are those who have investments in insurance companies and those who used to get Cadillac plans from employers - something that is soon to be a thing of the past anyway. It's time.

Baloney. Europe alone gets millions upon millions of people from the Middle East and Africa entering their lands as Europe is not protected by two huge oceans, unlike America. They have tremendous immigration pressures, but no one with an inkling of sanity would even dare to suggest that their single payer system must be eliminated and an American system must replace it as a result of immigration.

Immigration is a complete red herring. Immigration to America is low compared to many countries in Europe. The reality is that single payer would be disastrous for the ruling class who fund the puppets you vote for. Thats why its so difficult to pass it.
