Anyone who doesn’t get the difference between Harvey’s comment and Barr’s insult (and similar pejoratives) shouldn’t ever leave their house. Seriously.

the only real difference is one of them that said it is the wrong skin color and leans the wrong way politically

Not so, but go ahead and be utaged. This is what Harvey actually said --
Quote:
“You can’t stop them. You gotta outscore them. You can’t stop all them boys. They’ve got too many gorillas on the team. They coming to play, man. They got 800-pound gorillas on their team.”
I took it to mean they are the 800 pound gorilla to the Cavs whom they had just swept.
I guess the joke would be him congratulating Cleveland on winning the title.
Don't people out there get it already? The fact that as long as a person saying something that could be perceived as racially offensive towards another, is the same race as that other, it's acceptable.
Hence, if a white reporter called the Warrior players gorillas, that reporter would be crucified and fired.
It is what it is, no use getting upset over these double standards.
Are you delibertely being clueless, or just acting? An 800 pound guerilla is not a racial slur. It’s a common metaphorical statement meaning something or someone who is huge and unstoppable. Get a clue. Fake outrage is just ignorant.
I think its over sensitive. The use of descriptions are not always insults. I grew up with various comparisons (valid or not) such as "strong as a lion", "wise as an owl" etc. I worked in engineering for a lot of years and making devices for public use had to be made "gorilla proof". Many have become "thin skinned". Many close knit groups that depend of the skills of each other to succeed often "badger" each other. Its part of a brother/sisterhood that crosses boundaries that puts everyone on equal footing and creates bonding. If you can "dish it out" but you "can't take it" then many times you are not suitable to be part of the team. You can still go "below the belt" and if you do, you get called out and you had best make amends or be ready to defend yourself. We really need to get over ourselves and "grow a pair."

You mean like the Samantha Bee comment which other than Baldwin there was no outrage from the hypocritical left? And the best part is the filthy left trotting out the bigot Rev Al and the homophobe Joy Reid to discuss bigotry. lmao The left has zero credibility.
Anyone who didn't call them out should never speak up on this subject.
The way he used the phrase seems to be the common usage. Just another fake outrage from the right.
As opposed to the fake outrage from the left every time a white person uses a word that is "reserved" for other ethnic groups.......
