Apparently Republicans are no longer free trade fiscal conservatives.
Running a trade surplus with other countries counts as fiscal conservatism in my books. The party of "free trade fiscal conservatives" has gives us half a trillion dollars of deficits every year.
Trump is robbing the piggy bank. His clothing and Ivanka's products are made in Asia, he buys cheap illegal Chinese steel, and hires cheap foreign visa labor for his US properties.
Imports will be more expensive, prices will rise, and exports will fall, with no beneficial change in balance of trade. Apparently Republicans are no longer free trade fiscal conservatives.
Free trade only works if the countries you are trading with are also free trade (which they're not).
The EU imposes all sorts of duties and tariffs on US imports, so even if WE implemented a pure free trade system here with no government restrictions or taxation on their imports, THEIR governments would still restrict and tax our imports, placing US companies at a disadvantage.
Given this reality, we have no choice but to threaten retaliatory tariffs on their imports to get THEM to level the playing field a bit. The EU taxes US imports more than we tax theirs, hence why Trump is fighting it.
I thought the Loonies were all about equality? Yet they are quite happy for other countries to take advantage of us. I had no idea Canada was slapping a nearly 300% tariff on our farmers' dairy products so no one in Canada would buy them. How does that help us?
President Trump is merely speaking the truth. The fact is, if these trade agreements were neutral, then the other party would not be upset if it got nixed. The louder they yell, the clearer it is that these are not fair trade deals.
They weren't yelling.....the U.S. is the only one yelling. So I guess that makes you the one upset your little fiefdom got a turn-around.
Eight years ago Obama supporters acted like he was the Messiah. Now Trump supporters are saying Trump is a god. What is it with this blind devotion to politicians? Politicians are all lowlife scum. Trump is no different.
not all, we need to elect better people

obama was the messiah because he was black the first black president, You could not say anything against him because it was not political correct. He could run the country into the ground and he still be treated like a king, because he was black.
it was like the emperor with no clothes, you wasnt allow to say anything bad because he was our first black president, and no not multi race but 100% black
The only people who ever called obama the messiah were far right wipers. The same ones who bow down to Cheeto jesus

Yeah, that tariff is so darn unfair with no one in Canada buying U.S. milk products; the U.S. enjoys a half billion surplus of trade with Canada in the milk products sector.
Doing some simple research to verify nonsense you're being fed and repeating would be helpful to prevent you looking like a fool..
Here's some history and how your own government decided on the issue:
It’s so refreshing to finally have a leader who can deal with other countries instead of rolling over and playing dead (Obama).
Yes it is!
