Armalite.

So isn’t that a bit redundant to list it as an Armalite AR-15?

Ford F-250. Isn't the F redundant? It's called branding.

Why do you care so dearly about whether you use the word "clip" or "magazine" since we all know what it means. Same for the use of Assault Weapon with several definitions floating around. The word Assault would only have meaning if it was clearly defined in legislation which we all know will never occur.

There are no good choices on the OPS lead in and we all know he wanted to be fair.

There are two separate issues here. If you are wanting to pass a law the wording should be correct and specific and not some vague, pretty much meaningless statement like this.

For someone to argue "assault rifle" in an argument is the same as someone that is pro-life arguing about "killing babies".

I agree and that was my point also, it is only meanigful when it is incorporated into legislation.

Assault weapon

is about as true to form as calling both a Ford F250 and a Lamborghini "sports cars" since they both have 400 cubic inch engines, adjustable seats and electric mirrors. It's intentionally misleading the public about stuff they really shouldn't need to know much about.

OOGA BOOGA! Ghost gun.
That Congress and not a military General makes legal definitions. Yes it is an outstanding ideal, it is what separates us from the nations with leaders for life who wear a military uniform and a separate medal on their chest for every murder they committed as they rose in power
