Someone who gets it! I'm Canadian, and we all know he got in based on his selfie-instagramming account. He's had no real job or experience prior to this, relied on his family name (Royalty in Canada). So when things are not carefully controlled, he's prone to gaffes and doesn't really understand the nuances of global politics where the Leader really matters, and aides are less useful.

He was told by his aides to stick with the status quo. When dealing with Trump, he wasn't sure how to read it, but stuck by what he was told to do. Trump being free from this type of structure clearly saw Trudeau as the weasily type who does just that.

As Trudeau seems like a hero, us Canadians don't appreciate how important the US is. Our so called 'Car Industry' is completely due to the US with the Big 3 setting up shop here many decades ago. If we really had a car industry, we would develop our own brand. The heart of the issue is our Supply Management (Quota) system that keeps dairy product's prices high which other global countries have also complained about.

Ultimately, when push comes to shove, I have a feeling us Canadians will scrap that supply management system once we realize how expensive tariffs on US products are, plus the loss of certain US dependent industries here.

The dairy marketing board has been in place since the early 70's, and is only around because it works.

Ultimately, who cares what the US does. Canada is a global raw material supplier. If the US doesn't want/need it, there are other markets. Just because we supply 60% of their aluminum, and the tariffs are basically making the Canadian aluminum industry richer, because the US can't produce competitively. Let Cheeto vonTinyhands keep cutting off his nose to spite his face.

The Trumpette cheerleaders can dance their way into recession. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

Yes, I have a great idea. Let's alienate the country we trade the most with. Let's ridicule and irritate the country that stood with us in Afghanistan. Let's embarrass the country that refused to put a price tag on the aid they gave us after Hurricane Katrina.

Let's do it all for the sake of a dairy industry.

And let's continue to listen to lies from that jackass in the oval office. While he burns through friendships with allies like Canada, Germany, and France, he extols the virtues of gangsters an dictators like Putin, Duterte in the Philippines, and any authoritarian leader. Normal people are shamed of our leader after all the trouble he has caused. Only isolationists who carry nothing for the opinion of other democracies support him.
Your post doesn't seem to have much credibility, every source I've seen says the US has a trade deficit with Canada of around $18 billion.

It depends if you count oil or not. The one thing to remember is that Canada has 1/10 the population of the US. Canada is purchasing, with 35 million people, very close to what a market of 350 million is buying. Who's taking advantage of whom?

Mexico uses us as a safety valve. South Americans are wary of us because our bullying and of all the crimes we’ve committed down there. They resent years of living under the Monroe Doctrine.

We haven’t a single friend in Asia. Everyone on that continent wants something or has an ulterior motive. You can practically see their leaders gritting their teeth when they shake any US president’s hand. Taiwan has obvious reasons to be obsequious. Japan uses us to save their own money on defense. Ditto Korea. Other Asian nations have accepted the inevitability of Chinese hegemony over the region sooner or later.

Africa is basically indifferent towards us. They look more to Europe, China and emerging nations like Brazil for guidance because all the United States is interested in is peddling weapons and chasing terrorist ghost across the continent.

The Middle East? Not a single friend. In fact, they think we’re the biggest fools on the planet. We’ve made the region a mess by destabilizing it. The Saudis laugh at us behind our backs and the Israelis use us as a blunt object against their enemies. Both nations would kick us to the curb the minute they didn’t need us for something. The Turks think that we’re interlopers who constantly stir up trouble...trouble that ALWAYS causes them problems on their own borders.

Europe? LMAO...please. They see us as the dupes who subsidizes their defense while they lavish their citizens with goodies that Americans can only dream about. The British government pays friendship some lip service, but the British people have no use for us. Not to mention that Britain has gotten us in two world wars, and then screwed up the Middle East, only to hand us that soup sandwich and walk away from it. The British have NEVER been a friend for anything other than an ephemeral convenience.

Australia can take us or leave us. We’re good for them keeping the Chinese tiger at bay, but that’s about it. Of course, they remember our treachery when we tried to rig an Australian election, and Australians remain rightfully wary. Wouldn’t call them a friend by any stretch.

Canada? The Canadians have never asked us for anything. They just want to get along and be a good neighbor. They’ve never done anything malicious to us, and when we’ve been maligned, they’ve stood quietly beside their neighbor to the south and remained a steady friend. They’ve even deployed troops to a few of our dumb wars. We should be very careful not to alienate our only friend.

I’ve said time and time again that I support Trump on trade, and I believe his heart is mostly in the right place on this issue. But if you’re gonna break the rules because they stink, then break another one and show our friends to the north some special dispensation on this and any other issue that you wouldn’t show another nation.

Don’t insult their prime minister publicly...and don’t air family grievances out like an idiot.

That’s all.
this is so untrue. Where are you getting the idea they are even our friends and where are you getting the idea they are our only friends. Shall I start naming a few other countries that are certainly our friends.

You need to find different sources. If you look at GOODS only there is a deficit but when you, more accurately, include services, there is a surplus.

Trump is a genius and is truly MAGA, everything is so much better today with him in office, and that is exactly why all of the ignorant, left wing whackos are up in arms.

Get over it snowflakes, everyone of your lives are vastly improved since the big guy took over from the gay traitor.
But keep crying, we LOVE it...!
