To be clear, this is the US Chamber of Commerce reporting this, not some Trump-hating left-wing journalist. The CoC usually leans to the right and usually endorses/supports republican candidates.

IF that were true, we'd all get the permanent tax cuts the corporations got.

But, I'm sure it's all somehow the liberals' fault.

.

Just like the price of produce will skyrocket, we will being paying $5 for a head of lettuce due to the illegal immigration crackdown. And all the old people will die from starvation because the Trump administration cut funding to state block grants.

You do know that the Chamber of Commerce is how the donor class controls trade policies. I mean you do know that, don't you?

You can expect the Chamber of Commerce, and many within congress to fight against fair trade, they represent the donor class, not the American worker.

Congress, and the Chamber of Commerce will be dragged kicking, and screaming all the way to the eventual outcome of fair trade policies.

Really, Trump supporters that are so gung ho about quitting NAFTA need not defend it. Let's just end it and let the chips fall where they may. Canada and Mexico will find other sources just like Mexico was looking at taking their $1.2 Billion milk market to New Zealand. As they and the EU find other sources, it may be harder to get them back, but let's find out. I'm totally willing to experiment with the Trump supporter economy.

The auto industry is currently so tightly integrated in North America that it would really be a huge mess in both countries if tariffs were suddenly implemented. Where final assembly takes place doesn’t tell the whole story by a long shot.

Quote:
Trump has previously floated the idea of implementing a 25% tariff on automobiles coming across the Canadian border. But years of trade and investment between the two nations has produced a tightly-integrated manufacturing system, blurring the lines on country of origin: on average, a vehicle passes the border seven times during the manufacturing process.

As a result, a pre-emptive attack on the Canadian automobile manufacturing network – the largest supplier to the US – would have lasting effects for Americans.

“You are looking at direct and indirect employment in the sector of hundreds of thousands of people in Canada and millions of people in the United States,” said Miller, pointing out that every job in the automotive sector creates an estimated seven peripheral jobs.

Most of the corporate thieves hide in the major cities, actually, not in flyover country. The exception are the major farms and poultry and meat companies, which hire illegals and refugees instead of Americans to make huge profits. Most of them are in flyover country and I'm aware of their treachery and have been calling them out too.

The COL is far lower in flyover country. In the major cities on the Left Coast or in NYC area, yeah they may pay higher wages, but many of those "high" wages barely get you by, yet you're stuck competing with illegals and H1Bs that live 10 to an apartment or that live off government subsidies since they have unreported income and appear to have none, so you can't say much or they'll show you the door and you'll end up living under a bridge.
