The Democrats will control the House on January 2, 2019. The Republicans likely will retain control of the Senate on January 2, 2019. Under the Constitution the House of Representatives is in charge of impeaching Federal officials.

The Senate has the power to try the impeached official for removal from office.

Many Democrats believe that President Donald Trump should be impeached and removed. Many Democrats also believe that Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh should be impeached and removed. Ditto Acting Attorney General Whittaker.

Perhaps the Democrats should consider assigning to committees the job of drafting articles of impeachment, where appropriate, and flooding the Senate with the duty to conduct trials. This would be a constructive and creative way to generate ferment.

If the Dems are smart they won't. The Senate will not remove Trump from office unless the charges are egregious.

They should work with the Senate and get some real meaningful legislation passed regarding healthcare, immigration reform, housing, etc.

And if Trump vetoes, then it's on him.

I think Americans from both sides of the aisle are pretty much over the divisiveness in Washington.

They should worry about how to solve our homeless vets and children living in the streets.
Enough with the witch hunt already. Do something that'll benefit the above mentioned people.

No, those are just platitudes for the election cycle. Its go time to cater to extremists and grab as much power as they can so they can further their careers.

I hope you are right but I can't see it. The democrats want revenge and really don't care if they run the country into the ground to get it.

I keep reading that, for now, there's no though of impeachment. What they are going to do is investigate Whitaker and his possible conflicts of interest between Trump and the Mueller investigation.

I fear you are correct. Democratic leadership appears to be more interested in stealing back power at any cost, rather than working with the current government, and riding it out until the next election cycle.

It’s going to be fun when everyone just ignores their subpoenas.
