Awesome! Let the peoples voices be heard. Even if this passes it will take years to overcome the logistics and legal battles but coming from So Cal, I love this idea. Los Angeles and San Francisco can have their own progressive far left governments with all the pro illegal alien agendas they like and not bother the rest of us living from San Diego to the Sierras and most of the San Joaquin Valley.

The preponderance of people north of Sacramento want nothing to do with anything south of them. For those people including Sac and the Bay area is abhorrent. They are still wishing for the state of Jefferson and have been for decades.
Should be entertaining. Looking forward to seeing how Eastern California supports itself.
Look at the map. It includes San Diego the second largest city in the state and Orange County, also one of the wealthiest and a large percentage of all the agriculture produced in the entire state in the San Joaquin Valley.
You either didn't see the map or know very little about CA geography.

As long as they can support themselves. That's the problem with so many rural and semi-rural areas. They want to control others while they steal their wallets. We have that in Eastern Washington too. They complain and we say "then pay your own bills". The big cities support California. Water is another issue and maybe they will do desalinization but that doesn't sound like it would taste very good.

You have my sympathy. I wouldn't wish getting stuck with San Francisco on anyone.

As long as they can do away with ridiculously onerous regulations they would manage just fine and they have plenty of water. Quite a bit of the state's farming happens north of Sacramento County.

That is a new partition but I'm guessing they will still complain about San Diego and say San Diego is trying to control them. I've seen this movie.
