[quote=Old Town FFX;52188324]I find it hard to believe you can live nextdoor to someone and not talk to them for a decade. That on it's own seems strange to me.
I have lived next door to a woman and her grown son for four years. Neither have either even responded to a friendly greeting. I don’t think it all that strange these days.
I don't condone the violence but based on the story Rand Paul provoked the man and brought this upon himself. Boucher trimmed branches on Paul's tree that had grown over the property line. To retaliate, Paul piled up debris 5 feet high and 10 feet long in an area near the property line, the neighbor objected and removed the debris himself. A few days later, Paul creates a new pile in the exact same area. Boucher hauled it away again and Paul immediately created a new stack of debris. Boucher decides to burn the debris this time and the next day Paul starts blowing leaves from his yard into Boucher's and starts moving sticks from his yard into a new pile in the contested area while Boucher is watching. Boucher claimed he lost his temper and attacked Paul while he was carrying a load of debris to add to the pile.
If I am on this jury, Boucher goes free. If you act like a doosh, you deserve to get treated like one.
Uh. No.
As someone said earlier, you have to be a real unhinged twit to get that upset over yard waste. If he doesn't like it there, look somewhere else. What a stupid thing to attack someone over. Boo. Hoo.
And what "lesson did he learn"? If I was Paul, as soon as this was over, I'd go right back to piling those sticks on the property line.
Reminds me of an old nosy hen I had for a neighbor some time back. This hag was all up in our business, day and night.
Most of the yard was lawn, but there was a small sidewalk leading from the driveway to the back deck. I would put the garbage can on that sidewalk because if I left it on the grass, it would kill the grass and leave a big, yellow square underneath. This sidewalk and garbage can had nothing to do with that old bat, but that didn't stop her from coming into my yard while I was at work, and moving the garbage can. Every day I got home, I'd move it back to the sidewalk, look up, sure enough see her gawking at me through her window, like she always did, and either wave or just stare at her as I walked to the door to go inside.
She eventually called the landlord to complain about where I put the damn garbage can. The landlord asked me if I could just "try" to get along with her, and I said to him all that required was for her to leave me the F alone, but the garbage can is not going on the grass no matter how many times she moves it. Perhaps if she doesn't like it there, she could close her curtains and start minding her own damn business.
The garbage can did not leave the sidewalk again after that.
There is never a good reason to run across your yard and your neighbors yard to tackle your neighbor, even if they are being a jerk. I mean come on, grow up, act like an adult, and talk to Paul about whatever problems exist. The guy himself said he has never talked to Paul.
Reality is, most people on a few acres or less put their burn piles or rubbish piles near the property lines, thats really not uncommon. I do it, and both of my neighbors do it, I could care less. It's better then having a messy yard. If someone has a problem, it should be addressed by talking, not violence.

Of course, that have to bring out that line
Must be some big neighborhood if ole Randy didn't notice someone hiring a dumpster to move out his pile of trash or the fire the guy started to burn it another time. More likely he went all libertarian on him with the "I'll put my trash on my property anywhere I damn well please". Oh well it is Kentucky after all.
