The WHO, which is a UN agency, has listed 'gaming disorder' as a form of mental illness.

Quote:
Dr. Shekhar Saxena, director of WHO’s department for mental health, said WHO accepted the proposal that Gaming Disorder should be listed as a new problem based on scientific evidence, in addition to “the need and the demand for treatment in many parts of the world.”

This is a good example of the pitfalls involved in background checks for mental illness, which gun-control advocates so often portray as a cut-and-dried matter that could be instantly and easily implemented if not for obstruction by the NRA. It's not that simple. The entire psychiatric industry is bankrupt. When I was very young, homosexuality was listed as a disorder. Now homophobia is considered a mental health problem.
