The FBI accepting bribes from the media, interesting.

The IG will conduct separate investigations into the bribes.

The lead investigator in the Russia, Flynn and Clinton Email case promised to stop Trump from becoming president during the campaign then talked about impeaching him after the election. This is huge. Everything this guy did needs to be examined.

Apparently Congress has been trying to get Strzok to testify, in order to let him prove that he did not have any bias in the investigation of Hillary's email server, but he hasn't appeared. A summons for him to appear may be coming in the future. This, according to an interview of Gowdy and Goodlatte on Fox, just minutes ago.

From the IG report.

We identified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of the organization and with no official reason to be in contact with the media, who were nevertheless in frequent contact with reporters.

We have profound concerns about the volume and extent of unauthorized media contacts by FBI personnel

the organization and with no official reason to be in

frequent contact with reporters...

In addition, we identified instances where FBI
employees improperly received benefits from reporters,
including tickets to sporting events, golfing outings,
drinks and meals, and admittance to nonpublic social
events. We will separately report on those
investigations as they are concluded, consistent with
the Inspector General Act, other applicable federal
statutes, and OIG policy.

The harm caused by leaks, fear of potential leaks, and a
culture of unauthorized media contacts is illustrated in
Chapters Ten and Eleven of our report, where we detail
the fact that these issues influenced FBI officials who
were advising Comey on consequential investigative
decisions in October 2016. The FBI updated its media
policy in November 2017, restating its strict guidelines
concerning media contacts, and identifying who is
required to obtain authority before engaging members
of the media, and when and where to report media
contact. We do not believe the problem is with the
FBI’s policy, which we found to be clear and
unambiguous. Rather, we concluded that these leaks
highlight the need to change what appears to be a
cultural attitude among many in the organization.
That bribery stuff is all on pages 420-21 and FBI Director agrees that the FBI has problems and he is already addressing them. He said he has already referred some people in the report to their Personnel Discipline Office - this is what he did earlier to McCabe. He really needed to do that - the last thing the FBI should be doing is letting their own people LIE under oath or on Government forms and then "shrug".

McCabe gave a horrible response to a question about the Reputation of the FBI - He doesn't understand that the FBI has a tainted reputation right now - the OIG report was damning. The recent reports about FBI employees going unpunished for LIES, while they imprison anyone they managed to trap into a lie.
The 302's are only believed in court about half the time and that's because the court and jury has to "take the word of the FBI" with zero proof other than their ethics, all the balls they have dropped on some of these recent shootings ...... none of which look very good right now.

I don't trust law enforcement that is in frequent contact with reporters or takes gifts from said reporters when they are expressly forbidden to do so. This is an egregious break in the public trust.

Comey not influenced by politics. Trump has lied for the last couple of years. Even the 2 lovers did not allow their political views to determine the investigative direction.
The report doesn't say that. The report says that their actions indicated bias and "a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects."

From pages 420-21:

Quote:
We were deeply troubled by text messages sent by Strzok and Page that potentially indicated or created the appearance that investigative decisions were impacted by bias or improper considerations. Most of the text messages raising such questions pertained to the Russia investigation, which was not a part of this review. Nonetheless, when one senior FBI official, Strzok, who was helping to lead the Russia investigation at the time, conveys in a text message to another senior FBI official, Page, that “we’ll stop” candidate Trump from being elected —after other extensive text messages between the two disparaging candidate Trump —it is not only indicative of a biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the Department of Justice. Moreover, as we describe in Chapter Nine, in assessing Strzok’s decision to prioritize the Russia investigation over following up on the Midyear-related investigative lead discovered on the Weiner laptop in October 2016, these text messages led us to conclude that we did not have confidence that Strzok’s decision was free from bias.
