Mexico has lowered the legal age of sexual consent to just 12-years-old, becoming the latest nation to give in to pressure from an international liberal network of activists determined to normalize pedophilia and legalize sex with children across the world.
Federal law in Mexico now establishes the age of 12-years as the age of legal consent, while the age at which there are no restrictions for consensual sexual activities is 18-years (sex with someone as young as 12-years is legal, but can be open to prosecution if deceit, force, or an abuse of authority was used.)
And they're mad because Trump called them "rapists" and such?

No, just more common sense than our laws. If a 13-year-old in Mexico does the diddly with a 12-year-old (in some states) it's legal. If a 45-year-old does, it would very likely be illegal. Many US states have similar affirmative defenses aka Romeo and Juliet laws. There's cultural difference where a 25-year-old marrying a 15/16-year-old in Mexico would be much less uncommon than it occurring here so the minimum and unrestricted age of consents are different but address fairly similar things as Romeo and Juliet defenses. Of course not all states have those which means a significant minority of the US population are rapists as defined by the law.
The individual states in Mexico define the laws more as Mexico is more federalist than we are. Most set the unrestricted age of consent at 18, none younger than 16. Pretty much exactly the same as here.

Many older people (grandparents) in the US, would be viewed as 'pedos' today for the age differences between BF and GF back in their days, One of my great uncles was in his mid 20s and married a 14 yr old, no one thought it negative in their days, in fact they never divorced and were married for over 50 yrs!
France just set theirs to 15. Before this, there was none, and men got away with raping 11 year old girls by saying the girls consented.
Amazing how much this varies all over the world. I had no idea.
