I hope to God these farmers show him what they think of him destroying their markets and then making them dependent on government handouts. I can't imagine they wanted to be welfare leeches, but that's pretty much what Trump has turned them into. Let's see how much pride they have in mooching off the government come election time.

This is China's tariff, so if they did buy them at the higher price, China gets the tariff money, and the higher cost.

But, just like I said, they went and bought the from Brazil, leaving us with a bunch of soybeans we have to find other buyers for.
And with a bailout that Trump promised the US farmers, coming out of our taxes. So the US consumer and tax payers get screwed again.

I wonder if the people who praise Trump for giving the Farmers a pittance.... which cost the taxpayers $13 billion; actually realize, Trump gave them NOTHING, That is "AMERICAN TAXPAYERS" MONEY he used trying to cover his own Arse!!! by giving it away!!!! Still Trump supporters don't get it, but they even stopped whining about "my tax dollars'... as Trump gave their tax dollars away because he made a hell of massive mistake and "we" are paying for it!!! nor do they whine about "my tax dollars" when he has spent a fortune flying to his properties. (which is nothing more than a ploy and game of nationwide and global advertising of his own properties)
The Farmers see through the sham, and they loose big time, because of Trump debacle. They will loose more along with every other producer and manufacture in the U.S. because very few things can be made in the U.S. without parts and components from China or the Asian Region, and Farmers have to think years ahead for the investment and cost it takes to produce mass crops. Trump has cost them tremendously, and we will pay again, not just the tax money he gave, but with higher prices for less produce at the market.

Go in the store and look on the boxes of building Materials, you don't find a mass of Made in the USA, Ingredient that are used in various foods, is produced in China, and one can go down the list. Its not just consumer ready products that was "EXPORTED" by AMERICAN BUSINESS MEN to China.

If we want to blame someone, its not China... they are not doing anything that Japan did not do, when we sent mass production of electronic to Japan and followed up with many other things.
Maybe people don't remember in the K-Mart Hey Day, the bulk of their goods was "Made in Japan".... Japan made a mistake when it tried to buy American Marquee Properties, and American's crashed the Real Estate Market and cost Japan heavily.
China, is not doing the same game, they are building and expanding and making agreement in other countries, and they are looking at labor and resource rich Africa, as well as building agreement, and providing funding in many other countries, where they will gain a % profit regardless of what the U.S. does.

S. Korea is also dealing with China but they are looking long term, and they will make an agreement of peace with N. Korea and they will become even more powerful in 'Production Capacity", when that agreement is done and Factories start spring up in N. Korea.

America DOES NOT HAVE THE HAND it had Post World War II, it will never have that scenario again, because the world has changed, and the technology is widespread around the globe, that means 'data" is available to any country that wants to utilize it via technology. They don't start at the bottom... and many of those countries have massive room to take on Debt.... The higher the Debt of America is, the more room it means for other nations to take on debt, and they will take on debt to build up and build out their systems, infrastructure and industry.

Its not some thing where America is the "dictator" of the changes that are taking place. The world sees in Trump a reason to not be willing to submit anything to the American White Business Man.... (they don't know and they don't care that there is a difference in a Right Wing Conservative Ideology, and a Liberal Democratic Ideology, when it comes to "The American White Businessmen" and sadly Trump has made it bad for both, he has embedded in foreign minds not to trust the American White Businessman or the American White Politician and the damage reverberates through out the American Business population to impact all American Business people.

Its damaging to the Liberal Democratic Minded Business men, white, black, and other ethnicities, the basic inroads to some of these nation is likely to be made more interactive by people who may have immigrated FROM certain countries, because the people of those countries are more likely to Trust them, than to Trust the American White Business man.

Trump's example and the wild's of the Republican Congress is sending a terrible message to the world, and they are dealing with as they see it. They don't know our politics as a general matter among all their population, but they sure can and do see the malice and madness that is being done by Trump and the Republican Congress, which is predominant made up of American White Men, and they see the Right Wing allowing this group to do what they are doing.

It is not good for America !!!

People talk about China, but REFUSE to look at the malice having been done by the American Business Man, and the heads of American Top Industries which is made up of more than 90% white American males.

They also see America's Massive Debt.... They see the Wide Spread Poverty, They see and know of the broken down infrastructure, and they see and know that America has been "out built" by not just China, but Japan, Dubai and various other places that have build many projects... Even Tourist now know they can find upgraded state of the art facilities in many many places around the world. They see the Crime in America.....

We are pointing fingers and laying blame but won't lay blame on our own American Business Men, who initiated the exodus of Industry From America and Facilitated the massive Importation of Goods and Products. We had even outsourced phone help, to India, and people fought until some of it was forced to come back, not because of Politicians, but because of "people as citizens" who protested and fought against all the phone service help desk moving to India.

We lost much of Diplomacy under GHWB, and Obama built back the Diplomacy, and Trump has dismantled it. That is a terrible act and the outcome will get worst.

We need to open our eyes and face the truths that exist right here in America !!!! We can't change the world, but if America gets the guts, get rid of bias, bigotry, racism and America Stop Training Business People to chase greed, and teach them to Respect Legacy Business and Industry and think in terms of "Industrial Business and Stability"... NOT Mergers and Acquisition which does nothing but destroy business and industry in America. And Stop borrowing Against the Fiction of The Stock Ticker, and only borrow based on Actual Product and Actual Sales.

I don't see anything can be accomplished.

What would be the ultimate goal? China yields, and more jobs are coming back from this? The supply chain is long gone -- there is no more equipments, factories, labor skills ... those things can not be built in decades, if it can be built at all. Trump wants a political win that can not be achieved. In the end, Trump is just an idiot who had done a lot damages in the history of America.

On the other hand, China will not back down. So, I do not see things going anywhere.

Cheap things from China can be weaponized as well. What if China stop selling those things? That would be disastrous too, because America makes nothing these days.

Folks. Remember how I mentioned earlier in the thread that folks didn't understand why china would fight this so hard, and that it had to do with history. Clearly someone at the white house does. They picked what China calls "national humiliation day" to implement them.

The timing seems intentionally designed to get the patriotic ferver of the Chinese up about the topic, and to make it near impossible to get any rational agreement or settlement.

Nope. Similar in intent to when President Reagan kept upping the arms race. We have a very robust economy, our stock markets are holding their own, even gaining in some cases. China's growth is still strong, it is weakening, the debt being incurred to support the future is reaching a tipping point, their markets down significantly - SSE down ~20% in the past year, HSI holding its own, though two systems has a lot to do with that. U.S. on the other hand - 12 months; DJI +19%, NASDAQ +22%, Russell 2000 +21%, S&P +18%.

Risky, this trade strategy, but with huge potential for gain. We hold the financial strong suit.

Distraction? Laughable. Ability to multi-task is closer to the truth.

So this isnt about jobs at all? Economy is strong, jobs are plentiful, yet we are told that its China's fault that jobs are gone and economy is weak? Do you think you are going to gain anything by this? The Trump trade adviser even told us that he hopes production moves to communist Vietnam! How is that good? We have a six to one trade deficit with them, far worse than with China.

The Chinese stock market is tiny and a ridiculous gauge on their economy. Anyone with basic understanding of China knows this.

When more victims of this trade war will be bailed out by the taxpayers will you continue to support it? China has a 50 year time frame. We live quarter to quarter.
