Hooze goal? You and Trump speaking for everyone now?
If your neighbor wants to buy some inexpensive lawn chairs made in another country, who are you or Trump to stop them?
Or say when its time to buy a new washer and dryer, who are you or Trump to make them more expensive while doing nothing to improve the quality?

Is china paying? Well for certain its own consumers are by way of a tax on them from their own govt when purchasing goods from us, just as is happening here with its products.
Tell us; Who are the potential winners in this war again? I see two populations being taxed by their own governments while using the other government as an excuse and wrapping it in nationalism.
Its the perfect scam on the unawares amongst us.
The "unawares" are the ones who think the United States should so nothing and blindly continue a 1/3rd trillion dollar trade deficit with China every year just so a few 1 percenters can continue to make money on their stock portfolios.

First the Soyabean farmers and now Mushroom sales have dramtically fallen overnight in the US, so it's bad news for mushroom farmers as well.

If china wants to sell us goods cheaper than can otherwise be made here, why should anyone complain? Would it would be nice if it stopped taxing its own citizens for purchasing products made here? Certainly, however don't see how taxing americans accomplishes that.

I AM, because they know better. By all accounts, Trump is unteachable and stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if he believes it is China who pays the US tariffs.

No, you have no clue how they work, and neither does your idol.

Wow, talk about selfishness.

Ask your neighbors if they think that cheaper lawn chairs is more important than the economic future of their country as a whole. Or even the political future of our country because some of our politicians and media are already in thrall to China.

Right now the Chinese government is subsidizing steel, aluminum and other industries plus they artificially keep their currency low (it has been devalued yet again in just the last few months). And they have hidden trade barriers, such as long "inspection" times for American goods trying to come into China and tariffs themselves.

Until Trump came along, none of the other Presidents could make any head way with the Chinese. It was just talk and empty promises from the Chinese. And when the Chinese broke their promises, such as they did to Obama in 2015 about their currency, Obama did NOTHING. Because he was not willing to consider tariffs. And tariffs are the only thing that an aggressive mercantilist nation like China will understand.

Right now the Chinese think they can outlast Trump. And if they do, and the United States caves into Chinese domination of the American market, it is pretty much game over for the United States and pretty much the rest of the World.

Some people, like Trump and his supporters, think government intervention is always the right solution.

Where are all the conservatives when you need them? It seems they talk a good talk when they are in minority, but when they are in majority, they never live by their principles.

I think if my neighbor saves $50.00 on a chinese made lawn chair set or washing machine, they have $50.00 more to spend on something else. I fail to see any negative in that scenario.
What the Chinese do by taxing our products is unfortunate, but what I fail to see (and what you've failed to address) is how taxing us on chinese products has any impact other than to make two governments wealthier at the expense of its respective citizenry.
And China predates the US by a few centuries, so I'm sure it can weather Trumps 4-8 years (depending on which team your on)
