The average person would rather see a movie or go to a sporting event, but many here would find that boring! Post upcoming lectures and events in your city. Tell us about previous ones you attended, good and bad.

How can we find out about these things?
I heard about this one (below) by accident.

Three-day conference at Pepperdine Univ. in Malibu, June 27-29 "Toward a Conservatism of Connection." Victor Davis Hanson, Guy Benson, Steve Hayward, Kristina Arriaga and others. Schedule, topics, speakers, tickets:

I might go if I could car pool because I dread driving to Malibu. Short distance as the crow flies but I’m not a crow!

Out of town? Turn this into a mini vacation. Lots of things to do in tourist oriented SoCal. My favorite is the Lake Shrine, a mini Garden of Eden on Sunset Blvd, 1/4 mile off Pacific Coast Highway.

I like this idea. I would really like to go to to the one you just posted. Unfortunately my current budget won't allow it, but maybe some others, or even me will post some more a bit closer to the Orange County area. I'll try to look around a little myself.

They should give senior discounts like they do at museums. I'm surprised they only gave discounts to Pepperdine students and not all students. Plenty of young conservatives nowadays.

I wish I could go to Oxford to see a live debate. Loved the city when I visited many years ago and have dated a few Oxford (and Cambridge) graduates. Nothing sexier than an intelligent man with an 'Oxbridge' accent.
