They are not immigrants. My wife is. She filled out the forms, paid the fees then got in line to wait her turn.
The people at the border are trying to break into America illegally and that is why they are being detained.
What is happening at the border is enforcement of existing laws and the Dems are using it to grand stand and attack Trump. What is more shocking than a child being "RIPPED" from its mothers arms? It is great headlines and fuel for the Anti Trump propaganda machine.
I don't agree that kids should be separated from their parents but single men should be separated from the families. The last thing we need is more bad press where some MS13 guy diddled a kid.
I have seen photos from the detention centers and it looks like a good arrangement. The kids have a warm safe place to sleep, food to eat, entertainment and schooling while they wait to see if the dangerous risky chance their parents took them on will pay off.
We had a major problem during the Obama years when there was a big influx of unaccompanied minors trying to get in. Those kids were held under the same conditions as we are seeing now but the media ignored it. Why?
The best thing that can happen at the border is if the Dems would stop encouraging these people to risk their lives with the promise of amnesty once Trump is gone.
What are these kids called then...? Children of those applying for asylum?
they are illegal aliens. their parents are illegal aliens.
if you want to talk about illegal aliens then by all means lets have that conversation but please don't project the fully respectful term of "immigrant" on those that flout our laws and make demands of us.
Immigrants don't have any problems at all. Immigrants have all the rights to do whatever they want. That's the ironic thing about the whole "immigration" debate. It has nothing to do with actual legitimate immigrants.
Migrants who are crossing the border illegally are being detained while awaiting their asylum hearings. It's in the best interest of the children to put them in separate facilities rather than detain them with their parents, just like we don't put children in jail with their criminal parents.
Yeah, we have to watch out for those six month old gang bangers!
But the real threat is from the 18 month olds. They can WALK! horrors!
Well we are dealing with the federal gov. here and a government branch in the border patrol.
This sounds a lot like the TSA that is required (due to PC standards) to pull over kids and grandmas in wheelchairs for the extra pat down security sweep.
Kids is a general term meaning a young human from the ages of months old to 14- 16- 18- 21 and in some cases their late 20's if they are in fact an illegal alien that is attending high school in California.
First off, they are far away from being "immigrants". If they were, they wouldn't be outside looking in. Now, out of the 12,000 "kids" , 10,000 arrived alone. There is no family. Separation took place long ago but the press is too busy attacking Trump than giving you the facts. People also know a child is their ticket in so they grab a kid and claim p/maternity. Those are the ones who are separated.
Indeed, what we are generally dealing with is illegals bringing kids who are not their own across the border with the expectation that these kids will afford them a free pass to get into the U.S.A.
What are these kids called then...? Children of those applying for asylum?
These are invalid applications for asylum. People can only apply for asylum if their government is threatening to persecute them. When did Mexico start attacking its own people???
