The left calls them immigrants so you'll overlook the fact that they broke United States law (read below). The use of words to manipulate your thinking.

people’s ignoble or criminal qualities became disguised and excused with euphemisms: “Illegal aliens” became “illegal immigrants” and then “undocumented immigrants” and presto-chango, something bad was magically transformed into something good.
Because the illegals figured out that ICE's policy was to release the entire family if the illegals had kids with them when being arrested. So the illegals just started bringing their kids with them as it was literally a "get out of jail free" card.
Now that loophole has been closed, people are upset.
GUESS WHAT PEOPLE!!!!! GET ARRESTED FOR A CRIME, ANY CRIME, YOU WILL BE SEPARATED FROM YOUR KIDS.
Don't want to be separated from your kids?? No problem. Don't enter the US illegally. It's very simple.
Because the 9th Circus Court ruled that kids can't be kept in the detention centers for unlawful border entry. With current laws the only alternative is just let them all in including the many drug and child sex traffickers.
There are things we are trying to do to fix this law, but Democrats are stalling it because it's a good campaign show for them!

Trump can order a cease and desist directive as chief executive officer anytime he desires to do so.
This child separation and the infamous Wall, are both to serve as deterrents for unwanted immigrants of color.
If these people were all of European descent, Trump would facilitate their direct path to citizenship. He has already stated exactly what he thinks of Mexicans...
First off, they are far away from being "immigrants". If they were, they wouldn't be outside looking in. Now, out of the 12,000 "kids" , 10,000 arrived alone. There is no family. Separation took place long ago but the press is too busy attacking Trump than giving you the facts. People also know a child is their ticket in so they grab a kid and claim p/maternity. Those are the ones who are separated.
Most on the left here and elsewhere missed that part because Rachel Maddow and Anderson Cooper haven't reported it. When the President rails against FAKE NEWS, this is what he means Fake news isn't just creating facts, it's deciding which facts to report and which to hide.
Why is it exactly that current immigrants (?) are NOT allowed to stay with their kids??
Why separate them, what's the benefit or reason?
When the parents break our immigration law they are being arrested and incarcerated pending trial/hearing. As it should be. Guess what? The 9th circuit court has said that children can not be locked up with criminals in these facilities. Would you prefer that they were?
The original Law was in the 1990's - it's called the Flores Settlement (which is LAW) and mandated specific living arrangements, rules and safety for children. It was challenged in 2014 (Lynch vs Flores) and finally settled in 2016 by SCOTUS when they affirmed the 9th Circuit Court's judgement that children could NOT be detained with their parent or parents in a detention center (jail).
The Media and "fact checkers" are all saying the same thing ....
"It is not Law that Children must be removed from their parents when they cross illegally"
And that is absolutely TRUE ...... BUT, that essentially means that the Parents can't be detained at all and the Border is OPEN if anyone can get across with children.
They Media and Leftists are NOT telling you that the LAW is that the children can't be detained with the parents, they have a Law that mandates their care. Under both Bush and Obama -- the just didn't apply Law to illegals that snuck across the Border. The POLICY was a Catch and Release program for the most part.
President Trump has a Policy of Enforce the Law ..... he has begged Congress to sit down a change the Law, but they are all too concerned with re-election to do that. The reason is that the Leftist Media scares them to death AND that the Democrats would rather keep Immigration as a stick to beat up on Republicans with rather than actually DO anything. The proof of that is the Obama Administration when they had a Super Majority and could pass anything they wanted for almost 2 years and they did NOTHING for Immigration except make promises they refused to keep.
I don't have an issue with detaining them. That's reasonable.
And it is true -- while the accommodations are stark and not very pleasing -- they are accommodations and we need to do the best we can do in those circumstances.
