Trade war rocks

$26B in 2nd half of 2016, and $1.8B in the last 6 months. It's almost like they pulled the plug completely.

Chinese investment in the United States has plummeted 92% this year

Chinese investment in the United States nosedived in the first five months of 2018 amid mounting tensions between the world's two largest economies.
For years, Chinese companies pumped growing amounts of money into the United States, deepening ties between the countries.

But Chinese investment totaled only $1.8 billion between January and May. That's a 92% drop compared to the same period in 2017

China is a communist country use communist tactics to gain dominate power over western countries and one of their biggest investments is in universities to steal technology before America companies even know about new technology.
I'm no fan of Sen. Rubio but he is doing a lot in this area to stop China.

Nearly 40 percent of Confucius Institutes are located in the United States. In recent months, members of the US Congress, the director of the FBI and academic advisory groups have gone so far as to accuse the Confucius Institute as being a "subversive" mechanism controlled by Beijing to slowly indoctrinate US universities with a pro-Beijing narrative.

In February 2018, FBI director Christopher Wray suggested during testimony to the US Senate Intelligence Committee that China was using "collectors" to infiltrate US universities and gather intelligence on behalf of the Chinese government.

That's great! Looks like tariffs are working in ways not interned for. This is like drug dealers refusing to sell drugs to the junkies. It's the quickest way to solve the opioid epidemic AND getting paid for it.
