When I go through the drive through in Ohio there is no sales tax to pay. It's incredibly stupid to think anyone is going to fill in their taxes with "Hardee's. 6/16 .09 cents.
I also notice this, some places charge tax at drive thru and others dont. ie. mcdonalds doesnt, but frischs big boy here does, Taco Bell does as well. I dont think Wendys does though.
any reasoning why some do and some dont for driving thrus? (dayton area myself)

In Ohio there is no sales tax on take out. There might be in certain cities. I believe locally there is on soda which is all very complicated and stupid.

I believe a tax on food is immoral.
Euro-States that use VAT do not tax food, nor do they tax housing, healthcare or legal costs, or protective items of any kind, like car seats for children or protective items used in the home and work-place like dust-masks and such, and many, but not all, also exempt clothing designated for children in the age range of infants through toddler.
I buy groceries in Ohio, but for all other things, I go across the river to Kentucky to avoid paying the sales tax for the sports stadiums levied by the county.

I understand that.
